In Destiny 2, further XP adjustments are on the agenda. Currently, Crucible matches grant too few experience points.
Just the day before yesterday (1.2.), we reported on a new issue with XP: Update 1.14 introduced the change that only 120,000 experience points (instead of 160,000) are now required to earn a Glimmering Engram. However, it seemed that something went wrong.
According to the Bungie.net API, it now costs 240,000 XP to obtain a Glimmering Engram. It seems that the required XP has not been reduced, but rather increased.
Bungie responded directly, fixed a server issue, and subsequently released a hotfix to adjust the Bungie.net API. XP gains should now be displayed correctly again.
XP gains in the Crucible will be increased
In the latest blog post, Bungie briefly addresses this XP confusion. The issue has now been resolved, and they thank all players who reported it and provided screenshots and videos as evidence.
However, the developers do not want to completely close the chapter on “experience points” just yet. They are already working on a future hotfix for further XP adjustments:
- The Crucible XP rewards will be revised. Both the Quickplay and Competitive playlists will then offer higher XP gains.
Specific numbers are not mentioned, and no release date is provided. However, since this is just a hotfix that is already in development, one can expect it to arrive soon.
From “Destiny Player Support” come two more pieces of information:
- Shader Preview: Shortly after the release of 1.14, a problem was identified affecting the shader preview. When a player wants to preview a shader, the tooltip automatically switches to the first page of shaders in the inventory.
- “Lost Sector” Throttle: A temporary solution has been published, reducing the throttle timer from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. A hotfix is planned for mid-February to fully address this issue.
