Recently, Destiny 2 is also available for PC. On this occasion, Warframe developer Digital Extremes comments on the competition from Bungie.
Both Bungie and Warframe developer Digital Extremes have now celebrated significant milestones. Bungie released a game from the Destiny series for the first time on PC, while Digital Extremes introduced an open-world zone with the Plains of Eidolon in Warframe.
Comparisons between these two games are inevitable, but according to Digital Extremes Community Producer Rebecca Ford, they are unnecessary. According to Ford, it is an exciting time for a PC player interested in science fiction. Both games could peacefully coexist.
Destiny and Warframe have different goals
According to Rebecca Ford, it is also less about comparing the two games and more about enjoying the fact that the sci-fi genre is growing on PC. Both games are not in competition with each other, as they pursue different goals.
Warframe has been around for 5 years and has been continuously expanded over time. You can fly with jetpacks, go fishing, or also do mining. Ford emphasizes that Warframe is much more an MMO than a shooter.
For this reason, both games can exist independently of one another, as they take different directions.
There will always be comparisons between Destiny and Warframe
When asked how no competitive thinking can arise amidst all the comparisons and similarities, Ford replied, that one should focus on what makes the games unique. She does not believe that one can fish in Destiny 2 but is sure that there are many things in the Destiny universe that Warframe does not cover.
Of course, the two games will always be compared, as in both cases they are sci-fi games with shooter elements. Much more at the forefront is the fact that PC players with an inclination to science fiction can finally dive into the Destiny universe.
