The beta for Destiny 2 is over – on consoles. Now it’s the turn of PC players. We have the details on the dates for the PC beta and system requirements.
The console players have already been able to beat Cabal and send each other to virtual screen death. Now the PC community should also get their money’s worth.
Destiny 2 Beta on PC – Dates for Open Beta and Closed
The beta starts for pre-order customers of the game on August 28. That is a Monday. The open beta, meaning access for everyone, starts a day later on Tuesday, August 29.
The beta on PC ends on August 31. The exact times will be announced by Bungie. On consoles, the beta could be started at 7 PM. It is quite possible that these times will be confirmed for PC.
What should your gaming rig have? – the system requirements
Bungie recommends the following hardware to run Destiny 2 smoothly:
CPU
- Intel Core i5-2400
- AMD Ryzen R5 1600X
GPU
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
- AMD Radeon R9 390
RAM
- 8 GB
Bungie has also announced the minimum requirements:
CPU
- Intel Core i3-3250
- AMD FX-4350
GPU
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2 GB
- AMD Radeon HD 7850 2 GB
RAM
- 6 GB
With the following, commonly available hardware, Bungie states that the game can be played well:
- CPU – Intel Core i5-7400
- GPU – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- CPU – Intel Pentium G4560
- GPU – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2GB
- CPU – Intel i7-7700k
- GPU – Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti 11 GB
Bungie points out that the specifications given here are a snapshot, and may change before the release of the game on PC on October 24.
What can we expect in the coming weeks?
Bungie wouldn’t be Bungie if they didn’t announce things that they would later talk about. According to reports, PC players can look forward to being provided with information in the coming weeks to make the most of the PC beta.
Whether PC players will receive a different build, or an alternative version compared to console players is not known. We will see it at the latest at the turbine.
