If luck and chance haven’t been on your side when it comes to earning the new weapons from Season 6, then there’s good news. Destiny 2 will soon be more generous.
These are the weapons in question: Season 6 introduced two new activities – Gambit Prime and The Reckoning. In this context, the Guardians’ arsenal was expanded with 10 new weapons that can be earned through these two new modes.
What was the problem with these weapons? The issue with the two new activities: many Guardians find them too stingy and grindy. Especially with the weapons, players often have bad luck.
Numerous fans report that even after countless sessions in Gambit Prime and The Reckoning, they have not even seen some of the new weapons – let alone farm for a good roll.
Furthermore, the sources for these firearms are still not entirely clear to some players.
This frustrates many fans. Because the weapons are also interesting for collectors and title hunters. For example, you need all 10 to earn the new title of Season 6 – the Unruly. But again, this is heavily dependent on chance, as criticized by numerous players.
This is how Bungie plans to address the issue: With update 2.2.1 on April 9, this should change. Players will finally have better chances of obtaining the new firearms. Specifically, this means:
- The drop rate of the 10 new weapons will be increased in The Reckoning
- Most weapons will be added to the regular loot pool of Gambit Prime
- Most weapons can then drop at the end of a Gambit Prime match
- The drop chance for weapons will increase with each Gambit Prime or Reckoning match in which you did not receive a weapon. This is intended to avoid droughts
- The auto rifle, the sword, and the grenade launcher will remain exclusive drops in The Reckoning mode
This is intended to make Gambit Prime and The Reckoning more attractive and lure more players into the new modes. Many fans have eagerly wished for this change as well.
What is set to change even further: Destiny 2 will also be more generous in other areas and respond to player feedback. For example,
- the chance for rare cosmetics from the Dreaming City or from the Forsaken raid “Last Wish” will be increased. Their drop rates will be adjusted accordingly
- The drop rate for the raid fusion rifle One Thousand Voices will be increased
- the selection of Powerful weapon frames at Ada-1 will be improved. She will then offer all Powerful frames simultaneously
