In the past, guardians eagerly awaited content, but now in Destiny 2, the content waits for the guardians. However, despite the many options to keep your guardian busy, not everyone is happy. Not even our author Sven.
This is the current situation in Destiny 2: Those who own the Annual Pass in Destiny 2 have their hands full in Season 6. With Gambit Prime and Reckoning, new modes have been added that are supposed to bring more variety to the endgame week after week.
However, Destiny 2 is currently in a strange situation. For those who want to complete all weekly and daily tasks and milestones, it is practically impossible to keep up – even if you’re only playing one guardian.
The list of possibilities is enormous. Raids, Nightfalls, heroic missions and adventures, the Gambit modes, PvP, Prime Engrams, and more – progress can be made everywhere, and many activities are meant to encourage fun and variety.

Actually, almost every guardian should be happy. After all, large parts of the community have asked for exactly that. There should always be something to do. But even with all these options, not everyone is satisfied.
What does all the content mean for the players?
Best time for newcomers or returnees: Those who want to start Destiny 2 now or come back after a long absence will be overwhelmed with content – assuming they have the Annual Pass.
After the initial content droughts and numerous restructuring measures, Destiny 2 now offers a huge overall package with Forsaken and the Annual Pass that can entertain new players, as well as returnees, for hundreds of hours without becoming boring.

More opportunities in the endgame: Many players who have been around longer are also satisfied with this variety.
Earlier, progress would end just a few hours after the Weekly Reset. You could basically put Destiny 2 aside until the next reset. That has now changed. You now have some milestones or activities almost all week that could help you improve your guardian.
If you’re pursuing the new power level cap, you theoretically have more options than ever to achieve progress.

What many guardians criticize: However, for many other passionate players, this only sounds positive at first glance. Many core gamers even increasingly see a problem here, as do I personally.
Since the launch of Forsaken, one is only able to progress within the milestone system if they want to achieve progress. For three seasons now, there has been no real change or exciting innovation. Many veteran players are burned out and can no longer bear the same tasks like Ascendant Challenges or Flashpoints.
Additionally, there is the issue that new modes like Gambit Prime or Reckoning are not for everyone. If they do not enjoy it, they are basically condemned to keep grinding the old, familiar milestones in the old content, which many have already grown tired of. Thus, the theoretical diversity is not really present for many in practice.

As a result, many milestones force players into activities they do not wish to participate in. I have never really been able to enjoy Gambit, and nothing has changed with Gambit Prime. I also do not particularly like Reckoning with its sterile environment. Unfortunately, there is no way around it if you want to get the maximum from the week.
Furthermore, both for myself and many others, there is simply no incentive left to achieve any progress at all. Although in Season 6 there was again an increase in power level from 650 to 700, the gap can now be easily closed within hours to 640 with special loot from the Trickster. All it takes is a level 50 character.
Moreover, pushing the power level has simply become obsolete for many now. Reckoning is the only mode this season that requires a power level beyond 650. However, if you cannot enjoy this mode, like I cannot, there is absolutely no reason left to increase the power level.

Personally, this means: after I get the Thorn, I will probably limit myself this season to just PvP and Raids. Honestly, I expected much more from it. While the forges and the new Raids in the last season motivated me to level and grind, this is the first time in Destiny that I simply do not care about the increase in power level.
What players wish for: Many now hope that players could also achieve consistent progress outside of the rigid milestone system – for instance, in normal strikes, with vendors, in the open world, or in various events like the Escalation Protocol. I would also greatly welcome such a system.
This way, everyone could truly play what they enjoy most in Destiny 2 and still make noticeable progress with their guardian. In my opinion, variety and diversity would gain immensely from this.

This wish has not gone unnoticed by Bungie. Community Manager Cozmo23 remarked that he would definitely pass this request on to the development team.
Moreover, many guardians wish that the increase in light levels finally has a deeper meaning. Because if the increase is focused solely on one optional activity that many do not even play, the meaning of such a system seems redundant in the eyes of many fans.
Bungie apparently has big plans for the next season. I really hope that changes will be made regarding the criticized aspects. Otherwise, Destiny 2 could encounter a long-term content problem despite having enough content.
What do you think about this? Does the current content of Destiny 2 make you happy? Or do you wish for changes?
