In Destiny 2 there is now solid evidence for the imminent arrival of the oldest foe of the Guardians. Read what the mysterious star map and the future of Destiny might mean.
This is what players have found: In the Seraph Bunkers of Season 10, there is a map of our solar system. Most planets and some of their moons can be seen on it – the names are in Russian, as is fitting for the Warmind Rasputin.
On April 7th, the final Io Bunker opened its doors, and the Guardians could overhear an interesting conversation. If you take a look at the solar system map, you see something new, something threatening approaching.
Players have been waiting in Destiny for 6 years for the Darkness
What is coming our way? The Destiny community agrees that the threat at the edge of the solar system is the Darkness, more specifically the mysterious pyramid ships. These constructs have puzzled players for years and were recently prominently featured in the Shadowkeep story.
The fact that a whole fleet of them is actively approaching is exciting and threatening at the same time. Players are eager for all the various storylines to finally converge. The Darkness and the triangular ships are like a common thread. The fact that we now have in-game evidence of the arrival of the pyramids in the solar system is also confirmed by the new cutscene.
This is what the cutscene was about: When you first enter the Io Bunker, you witness Commander Zavala having a conversation with Rasputin. The AI shows footage from a distant past and its inability to help. This is not about the direct threat (the Kabal mothership crash) of the current season but about a larger and older enemy: the pyramid ships.
Their silhouettes can be seen as holograms during the conversation. Zavala offers the dangerous Warmind to work together against the threat in the future.

This is what the future of Destiny 2 might look like: Bungie itself stated that something is coming soon that is “different from anything we have seen in Destiny before.” What could be more fitting than finally unleashing the great enemy that has lurked in the dark for 6 years? The arrival of the Darkness has also been well prepared recently.
Both Calus and Osiris are said to have interacted with the mysterious pyramids at the edge of the solar system. The queen of the Awoken has her eyes on the pyramid fleet, and just a few months ago, we entered a crashed pyramid ship.
It is quite possible that the autumn expansion will finally address the big theme that is coming toward us with ever-increasing steps and is casting undeniable shadows ahead. However, another threat could await the Guardians before that and make us face a presumed defeated enemy in Season 10.
