It was previously unclear whether the new Warmind Strikes from Destiny 2 would offer exclusive rewards in their Nightfall mode. Bungie has now confirmed their existence. However, no one knows yet what rewards they are.
So it does exist! Since the release of the Warmind expansion, Guardians have been wondering whether the new Strikes in the Nightfall variant would have their own unique rewards. Until now, fans assumed that the new Strikes had nothing to offer. There was neither a statement from Bungie nor any indication of such things in the databases.
There is new Nightfall loot – Players should search for themselves
Via Twitter, Bungie has now confirmed: There are indeed unique rewards in the new Warmind Strikes! However, they did not reveal what they are or how to obtain them. They didn’t want to spoil everything. Players are supposed to search for them themselves.
Numerous fans have been tirelessly hunting since this statement and are compiling their findings on Reddit.
UPDATE: The exclusive Nightfall reward in the Strike “Strange Terrain” is not the Black Spindle but the BrayTech Sparrow Rocket Launcher. This has now been officially confirmed by Bungie on Reddit. Whether and why this rocket launcher dropped from other sources is currently being investigated by Bungie and Vicarious Visions. This shouldn’t happen.
The curious thing: No one has found anything yet. So far, the drops are limited to items from the regular loot pool and Bray-Tech weapons such as the Osprey (Sparrow) Rocket Launcher. However, it is also available from other sources like BrayTech schematics and engrams from Ana.
Therefore, the Guardians are sure – there must be more to it! They have not yet encountered anything truly special.
Does a puzzle lead to the Black Spindle? The community now speculates that it must be a puzzle within the current Nightfall Strike “Strange Terrain.” And indeed, there are already some initial hints about it.
If you kill the two Knights by the crystals quickly enough, another Knight appears who spits out a third orb. However, only two orbs are needed to destroy the crystals and advance in the Strike.

The fans are now examining various possibilities to find some use for this third orb somewhere in the Strike. So far, without success.
However, many now suspect that at the end of this potential puzzle, the exotic sniper rifle Black Spindle might be waiting. Because if previous data mining results are to be believed, its return is very likely.
However, a corresponding quest has not yet been found. A puzzle in the Nightfall would, in the opinion of many fans, be an ideal place to hide such a weapon. The setting would also fit perfectly with this week’s Nightfall Strike.
