In Destiny 2, you can secure a new Exotic during the competitive event. We will show you which Triumphs of the Guardian Games are best suited for that.
Here’s how to earn the Exotic: The Guardian Games event has started in Destiny 2. Warlocks, Titans, and Hunters compete against each other to determine which class comes out on top. Regardless of class, you can also earn the new Exotic Heir-Apparent during the event.
The exotic reward is hidden behind a mini-quest and several Triumphs that you need to complete. First, visit Eva Levante in the Tower to kick off the hunt.
During the quest “Guardian Games Registration,” you must make your way to several NPCs in the Tower and will even receive your first Gold Medal in the competition – it only takes a few minutes. Then you can start the next step: completing event Triumphs.
The exotic quest “On Your Marks, Get Set, Go!” is not related to Heir-Apparent; it rewards you with the event’s Exo Ghost shells.
Complete Class Act and Class Performance
Which Triumph is needed? To get the new Exotic into your hands, Eva Levante requires you to master the Triumph “Class Performance.”
If you are surprised that this task cannot be found in the Triumph tab of the game, you can be reassured. It seems that a small error occurred during translation; what is actually meant is the Triumph “Class Act.” In English, both are called “Class Act.”
Regardless of the name, the task to complete is identical: You must complete 7 event Triumphs in the Guardian Games; only then will Eva hand over the Exotic.
These 7 Triumphs you should tackle in the Guardian Games
What you need to know about event Triumphs: If you take a look at the Triumph tab, you will find under “Seasonal” and then under “Events” a list of all possible Triumphs that you can tackle during the Guardian Games 2020. Excluding the Triumph “Class Act,” there are 11 tasks listed.
We will reveal to you which of these you should ideally tackle to own Heir-Apparent as quickly as possible. Those who are not in a hurry and participate regularly in the event will unlock the power weapon within the 3 weeks alongside.
Two important notes:
- Be sure to equip your event class emblem. Many of the required medals, quests, and Triumphs cannot be effectively tackled otherwise. You will receive a corresponding item for free from Zavala.
- Currently, it looks difficult to unlock the Exotic at the earliest with the reset on Thursday (April 30) and then only if you’ve been diligent already.
7 quick Triumphs in the Guardian Games 2020:
- Embrace the Light: Achieve 25 Super kills in the Rumble playlist – For some Guardians, this Triumph is considered completed as soon as they complete the task during the Revelry 2019
- Incarnation: Defeat enemies with abilities in Vanguard Strikes and Nightfalls – This Triumph is also automatically checked off for some Guardians
- Famous: Collect Laurels (kills with grenades, melee abilities, supers) – Laurels created by other Guardian classes give you 1 point – Kills by your own class give 3
- Great Deeds: Collect Laurels in Gambit matches, strikes, forges, and locations (e.g., patrol zones)
- Show Your Colors: Earn points through Guardian player quests
- Weekly quests provide 4 points
- Daily quests provide 2 points
- Repeatable quests provide 1 point
These 5 Triumphs can theoretically be completed in one day, although the last one requires quite a bit of grinding. Additionally, you should tackle these two quests now and expect to finish them with the reset on April 24:
- Gold Medal Winner: Redeem 30 Gold Medals – You receive one for free per character and can earn 3 each day otherwise
- Fivefold Threat: Redeem one Gold Medal each for Crucible, Gambit, Strikes, locations, and forges – Daily rotations change the game areas (currently, on April 22, Strike and Crucible are active)
According to Destiny expert Aztecross (via YouTube), these 7 Triumphs are significantly faster to complete than the competition. He recommends tackling several tasks simultaneously and adapting to the daily rotation.
The Reward for Your Efforts: The Exotic Heir-Apparent
What the new Exotic MG contains: Even before the start of the Guardian Games, rumors of a heavy Cabal MG were circulating. As it turns out, it is the Exotic Heir-Apparent. Let’s take a look at the new power weapon.
Heir-Apparent is equipped in the power slot and belongs to the machine guns. It has the fastest fire rate of its kind (900), the largest magazine of all MGs (115 rounds), and deals Solar damage. Its stats are impressive, with stability at a strong 90 / 100 and handling that is very good for an MG at 70 / 100.
These are the unique, exotic perks:
- Heavy Projectile Launcher: This weapon can only be fired in a fully wound-up state – It must wind up briefly before unleashing its hail of bullets
- Colossus Armor: While at full health, you are protected by an Arc shield when winding up this weapon
