In Destiny 2 you earn the only new ritual weapon of Season 10 through the Iron Banner. We tell you what the bow “Point of the Stack” can do and how to get it.
This weapon is about: The combat bow “Point of the Stack” is one of the precise representatives of its kind and deals Arc damage. With most bows, guardians have to make a choice. Do they want a fast-firing bow that sacrifices precision or the other way around?
With its excellent stats, Point of the Stack combines the best of both worlds. However, like all ritual weapons, the special feature of the weapon lies in its perks.
What makes the bow special: With most weapons, players choose between two perks, that is, useful properties. Ritual weapons break this rule and double your options.
You can find these perks on Point of the Stack:
- Slot 1: No Distractions – Aiming reduces flinch
- Slot 1: Archer’s Tempo – Precision hits reduce draw time
- Slot 2: Vorpal Weapon – More damage against supers, bosses and vehicles
- Slot 2: Eye of the Storm – The lower the health, the better precision and handling
Additionally, you automatically receive the combat bow as a complete masterpiece in precision.
This is what Point of the Stack can do in PvP and PvE
This is how the bow performs in PvE: Bows deal very high damage with an arrow and normally take out adds with body shots. However, the punch comes into play when fighting enemies that can take a bit more or have a shield.
Bows especially shine in high-level content or in the endgame. That is, in the areas of PvE where you can’t devastate the battlefield without care but need to show caution and restraint.
To build on the strengths of Point of the Stack, you should fully invest in the perk Vorpal Weapon. All opponents with yellow health bars, the so-called “Yellow Bars” suffer an additional 15% damage. This also applies to champions who challenge guardians in many activities and are hard to eliminate.
This is how the bow performs in PvP: In the Crucible, Point of the Stack sends opposing guardians to the virtual afterlife with only two hits.
- A critical hit deals 155 damage
- A body shot deals 101 damage
Just one hit is enough to force any enemy into cover or weaken them enough for your team to easily take care of the wounded.
As a perk combination, we recommend in PvP Archer’s Tempo and Vorpal Weapon. The high precision and decent aim assist (72) ensure that critical hits are the norm. With the help of the perks, you can quickly set up for a deadly second shot.
With Vorpal Weapon, you deal a whopping 50% bonus damage to the opposing super. Two critical hits or three body shots are enough to abruptly end the otherwise strong super.
Is the bow worth it? Many guardians have a hard time with bows. The rather restrained playstyle may only partially appeal to action-spoiled players. However, Point of the Stack is an excellent entry into the “Robin Hood” playstyle. And who knows, after initial skepticism, the fresh experience might convince you and bring you closer to a different side of Destiny 2.
With the stats and the strong perks, hardly any legendary bow can keep up. There is competition only from exotics like the exo-bow Le Monarque.
The Bow Quest “Cast in Iron”
This is how to get the ritual weapon: To guarantee getting the combat bow Point of the Stack, you must complete the quest “Cast in Iron.” The task is tied to the Iron Banner and is given by Lord Saladin in the Tower.
In Season 10, you have three chances to participate in the PvP event. Currently (March 25), the first Iron Banner of the Season of Worthy is taking place. Until the next reset, you have time to prove your skill to the Iron Lords and be rewarded with the only new ritual weapon of Season 10.
Completing the Iron Banner quest: The quest “Cast in Iron” has 5 steps and rewards you with the well-deserved reward: Point of the Stack. All steps can only be completed in the Iron Banner. However, progress is carried over in the following events.
Quest Step 1:
- 3 kills with your super
- 30 enemies defeated
- 10 zones captured
Quest Step 2:
- Complete 6 matches
- Capture 20 zones
- 25 kills with hand cannons
Quest Step 3:
- 100 enemies defeated
- 30 zones captured
- 20 kills with submachine guns
Quest Step 4:
- 15 kills with your super
- 40 zones captured
- 15 kills with fusion rifles
Quest Step 5:
- 10 kills with bow
- Complete 15 matches
- 50 zones captured
Throughout the quest, you will also unlock the Iron Banner armor of Season 10. Keep in mind that the captured zones and completed matches count across the quest steps. So you don’t have to start from zero after each step.
