Destiny 2 received a new grenade launcher with The Final Shape that has the potential to be really good.
What kind of weapon is this? With The Final Shape, Destiny 2 received a new legendary grenade launcher named “Lost Signal” (German: Verlorenes Signal).
The grenade launcher fires volleys that create lasting stasis puddles upon impact. These puddles deal damage over time to enemies that come into contact with them – similar to the popular exotic grenade launcher “Witherhoard” (German: Dürresammler).
What’s special about the weapon is: Although the game tells us that the grenade launcher is loaded with only one grenade per magazine, just like the Witherhoard, it actually fires 4 projectiles since it shoots volleys.

However, some players also note that the damage of each grenade is not very high and that the grenade launcher may not be suitable against enemies with large health bars. However, it is quite suitable for add-clear.
Is the grenade launcher good? We currently have no data from damage tests, but the feel of “Lost Signal” suggests that the grenade launcher could be good for add-clear. The Witherhoard is also characterized by this, but it can also be strong against bosses with its catalyst.
For the “Lost Signal” launcher, it may be crucial how many of the fired projectiles hit and actually deal damage. The Witherhoard concentrates all its damage in one grenade, at one point.
With the new launcher, you can increase the damage area by spreading your projectiles over a larger area, which, however, can affect the damage that a single target receives. How exactly the damage from “Lost Signal” works and whether the launcher can compete with the Witherhoard remains to be seen.
