Warlocks can rejoice in Destiny 2. A new and underrated Exotic from Beyond Light transforms the dusty Solar Super into a monster. MeinMMO provides you with a suitable build.
This Exotic is about: The exotic helmet Dusk Chorus from Beyond Light is exclusively available to Warlocks. This significantly benefits your aging Solar Super.
Carriers receive a whole range of strong bonus effects:
- The burning swords of the Dawnblade Super ignite enemies.
- When the Flame Swords hit burning enemies, the damage increases significantly – up to 3 times the damage.
- All burning effects damage enemies for significantly longer.
- If an enemy takes damage from burns, it reloads your melee ability. This also applies to Solar grenades.
Why is there no love for the helmet? Why isn’t an Exotic with so many bonus effects played up and down? Quite simply: Currently, the new Stasis Supers overshadow the old classes. It’s no wonder that Exotics for aged Supers are overlooked. But that’s a mistake.
Even the big names in Destiny are slowly becoming aware of the Warlock Exotic and are raving about it. We show you why the Dawnblade with the right helmet Dusk Chorus is now considered one of the best Supers in the game.
Where to get the helmet and the 5 other new armor Exotics from Beyond Light, you can read here on MeinMMO:
Dusk Chorus from Beyond Light should not be overlooked
How strong is the Exotic? As mentioned, the damage of your Dawnblade increases significantly. When your swords hit burning enemies, each sword adds bonus damage until you reach 200% – which is 3 times as much as a regular Dawnblade.
The damage level is shown in these comparisons:
- A Hunter with the exotic helmet Celestial Nighthawk deals less damage with the Golden Gun
- Even a Chaos Reach plus the exotic Geomag Stabilizers or a Nova Bomb lose the damage duel against the Solar Super.
- Throughout the entire duration of the Super, you deal more damage with the Dawnblade combined with the Dusk Chorus than the most famous anti-boss Supers.
- However, you must keep in mind that it takes the Dawnblade longer to deal the same amount of damage as the other Supers.
This is why the Solar Super is so good: This Exotic bypasses the Dawnblade’s (bottom tree) inherent weakness: boss damage. The Super has been one of the best for a long time when it comes to clearing out normal enemies.
You can either scorch entire waves of adds, as each defeated target with your seeking Flame Swords ultimately extends the Super. Or you ignite a boss and deal massive damage to a single target.
This little trick is important for maximum damage
So you ignite enemies before the Super: To ensure your Solar Super doesn’t have to set enemies on fire first and deal more damage, you should pre-ignite bosses. Use your melee for this, for example. This way, you don’t waste a blade and let the damage soar earlier.
The melee of the lower Solar Warlock normally deals fire damage 5 times. With Dusk Chorus, it’s up to 17 times. Solar grenades also ignite enemies this way but do not burn for much longer.
By the way, you fully recharge your melee attack through the long burn time. So you have a burning fist ready for each enemy.
Build for Warlocks with the Exotic Dusk Chorus
We provide you with a strong build that will have your Dawnblade ready to unleash your devastating Solar Super as quickly as possible, but also brings heavy bonuses outside of the Super.
This is what you need:
- The exotic pulse rifle Bad Karma – If you missed it back then, you can buy it again at the exotic kiosk.
- Of course, the new exotic helmet Dusk Chorus.
- Select the lower tree (Flame Harmony) for your Solar Warlock.
- The mod Berserker – you can find it in the Artifact from Season 12
You can then extend the build with Warmind Cells. Since you fully focus on Solar damage, the mods Rasputin’s Fury and Global Reach are recommended. Also, invest heavily in intellect.
This is how you play it: When you use your Dawnblade and get kills, you automatically reload the Berserker mod. Once you come out of the Super, you have a 35% buff on weapon damage. Since the lower Dawnblade lasts significantly longer and loads up through kills, the buff remains for up to a minute after ending the Super.
During this time, you mow everything down with your Bad Karma.
- The fully automatic pulse rifle nicely reloads the magazine on its own.
- The rifle reloads the Super and generates orbs through its catalyst that also give you Super energy.
- In addition to the extra damage from Berserker, the weapon increases its damage on kills.
In between, you ignite enemies with your melee – they explode and ignite everything in the vicinity. If a boss or strong mini-boss gets in your way, let loose with your fully recharged melee and let your Flame Swords do the talking.
What do you think of the unjustly neglected Exotic Dusk Chorus? Does the oddly shaped helmet give the dusty Solar Super a new shine?
Bungie has now also commented on whether the Supers from before Beyond Light will receive the same updates as the fresh Stasis Supers.
