The new 15th Season in Destiny 2 has made many changes to weapons. Many Exotics have been nerfed while others have been significantly polished. We at MeinMMO will show you an Exotic that has quietly received an improvement you need to know about.
This is the gun in question: The weapon is “Chosen of the Traveler“. It is an exotic pistol that made its first appearance in Season 11. It is a kinetic pistol in the primary slot.
What is new now: With the release of the Season of the Lost, this catalyst was sneakily introduced into Destiny 2 without much announcement. This upgrade ensures that the pistol is now even better than before. Since the weapon was already good, the catalyst ensures you simply have an even better time with the Exotic.

What improves with the exotic pistol?
- Perk “Osmosis”: The grenade ability changes the weapon’s damage type to the one that corresponds to your focus – it works until you stow it. If you throw a Void grenade, the kinetic pistol will turn into a Void pistol.
- Fully automatic trigger system: When you hold down the trigger, this weapon fires fully automatically.
With the newly donated fully automatic fire mode, the Chosen of the Traveler no longer leads to tired fingers if you keep firing. You can comfortably keep your finger on the trigger and watch as enemies receive bullet holes.

With the unique abilities of the Chosen of the Traveler, you can consume Light charges through kills. Consuming Light charges reloads your abilities faster. Many builds benefit from this, such as a Stasis grenade build for the Hunter or a mini-Nova bomb build for the Warlock. Overall, this is complemented by the new fully automatic mode, which prevents tired fingers.
This is what the community says about the gun
Many Guardians didn’t notice the new catalyst for the old Exotic at all. The initiated enjoy the Chosen of the Traveler with the upgrade to the fullest. The pistol appears more useful through the catalyst and is also more fun in the everyday use of Guardians.
You can wipe out whole masses of enemies with the fully automatic mode, reload, suck up Light charges, and throw grenades. All in all, a very good weapon and arguably one of the best pistols.

How to get the new catalyst for Chosen of the Traveler in Destiny 2
This is how to get the upgrade: First of all, you need to own the weapon. If you don’t own the weapon, the catalyst won’t drop for you. But if you own it, you can obtain the upgrade by completing Vanguard Strikes, Gambit, or Crucible.
Bungie ensures that the catalyst is accessible to all players. However, it is an RNG drop. This means that if you are lucky, you will instantly receive the catalyst, if not, you’ll have to farm activities until you are sick of it – but the drop chance seems to be quite high.
Getting Chosen of the Traveler in Season 15: You can get the Chosen of the Traveler in the exotic kiosk on the Tower. For this, Glimmer, resources, and an exotic code are required.
