Bungie has released a preview event for the gameplay of the upcoming DLC “The Final Shape” this evening on April 9, 2024. This featured new content for Destiny 2, including combinable supers and exotic class items. You can find out more about it from us.
What has Bungie revealed? Bungie revealed new gameplay elements for “The Final Shape” in an evening preview event for Destiny 2. It was a cut-together video of various gameplay scenes and developer opinions regarding the upcoming content that players can look forward to.
The biggest innovations include combinable light and darkness abilities and exotic class items. We will go into detail now and explain what you can expect if you missed the video.
New class merges light and darkness
What’s new in “The Final Shape”? Bungie has come up with something new for the guardians to make them even more powerful – Prismatic. The “Prismatic” ability allows you to mix abilities from other supers and create something much stronger.
In the past, guardians have asked why they cannot combine supers to create even more unique builds. With “The Final Shape,” you soon will be able to.
Bungie wanted to make the guardians even more powerful than they already are. Builds will now be possible where, for example, Warlocks can execute a Stasis turret and a solar melee at the same time. With this possibility of expansion, guardians should be able to create even more unique builds.
On top of that, there is a new powerful talent – Transcending. Guardians will receive two new bars under their super bar. These two represent light and darkness.
When these are filled, guardians can unleash a special ability on their opponents that combines the two elements. For Warlocks, it was Stasis and Void. If the Warlock combines both, a vortex grenade is created that freezes and draws in enemies. But that’s not all.
What can the exotic class items do? You read that right, the exotic class items are set to return. This time, however, not from the factions of the last city, but from the Traveler himself.
These are stylish cosmetic items for each class with great power, as these items can possess exotic effects from well-known exotics. So it’s as if you are actually wearing two exotic items.
Bungie has explained it as if the exotic class item “steals” effects from well-known exotics of the class. How this will work is not known, but it sounds like you will need to luck into getting the class item with the desired effect.
So, you probably cannot infuse exotics into capes, sigils, or ribbons to transfer the desired effects.
It remains to be seen how Bungie has designed the new content and how it will affect the guardians. Are you already excited about the new content or is there nothing for you? Let us know in the comments!
