In Destiny 2 , mysterious spheres have been discovered in many places after the launch of Season 11. Since then, many players have been puzzling over their purpose. We explain what Savathûn’s Eyes are all about.
This was discovered: As part of the new Season 11, clever Guardians made an interesting discovery. Mysterious, glowing spheres have appeared at various locations in Destiny 2 – the Eyes of Savathûn.
A total of 50 have been discovered – spread across the new dungeon “Prophecy”, Io, Mercury, Titan, and Mars. So almost all locations that will temporarily disappear from the game with the Fall expansion “Beyond Light” into the Destiny Content Vault.
So in the current season, we are not only dealing with the arrival of darkness but are also increasingly receiving hints about the Witch Queen Savathûn, the sister of the Taken King Oryx. By Fall 2021, we are likely to encounter her as the main antagonist of the new expansion “Witch Queen”. Currently, she is apparently observing what the Guardians are up to.
This is what Guardians are wondering about: Some Guardians have wondered whether the Eyes serve any specific purpose – other than spying on the Guardians. So far, one cannot interact with these Eye spheres. They cannot be destroyed either; a message “Immune” appears when shot.
What is the purpose of the Eye spheres? Recently, data mining revealed what the Eyes are really for. They actually serve more than just a decorative purpose.
During Season 11, the new exotic Trace Rifle, Withering Image, will be introduced through a quest – when exactly is still unknown. This weapon Exotic will apparently be the only weapon that can destroy these Eye spheres.
On one hand, to receive a secret triumph for the new seasonal seal when all 50 are destroyed. On the other hand, to progress for the catalyst of the new exotic Trace Rifle.
