Since the new story trailer for the Forsaken expansion of Destiny 2 has been released, it is clear – Cayde-6, one of the most popular characters, will die. Fans are already vowing revenge and mourning the charismatic hunter leader. Some Guardians even dedicated a shrine to him at E3 2018.

Bungie released a story trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken during E3. The trailer left many fans shocked and in disbelief. The new footage shows the death of the beloved Exo character and a cornerstone of the Vanguard – Cayde-6. He is literally executed.
Bungie made it unequivocally clear to dispel any hopes and speculation about a possible return – Cayde is dead. 100%.
Project Lead Scott Taylor emphasized at E3: “Cayde holds a very special place in the Destiny universe. It was very important for us to do something shocking. We wanted people to understand what is at stake here. Players should hate the people who did this.”

Bungie has already succeeded more than that before the certain upcoming death of Cayde-6 – and that in less than two minutes. Because already, Guardians are flocking to vow revenge and prepare for the upcoming merciless hunt for Cayde’s executioner – none other than Prince Uldren Sov, the brother of the Awoken Queen Mara from Destiny 1.
The Guardian community mourns – Cayde-6 gets a shrine
Although Cayde is not dead yet, large parts of the Destiny community are already mourning this inevitable loss. How much Cayde has become dear to the players is shown by dozens of Reddit posts as well as a very special gesture at E3 2018.

There, some fans dedicated a shrine to the soon-to-depart Vanguard member, laying flowers, farewell cards, and even his beloved Spicy Ramen noodles in his honor.

One of the currently most popular Reddit posts revolves around Cayde’s chicken “Colonel.” Fans are asking the developers to allow them to adopt Colonel and thus honor Cayde-6. After all, they are concerned about Colonel’s future.
And rightly so. Because Cayde’s days are numbered. Already at the beginning of September 2018, Cayde will likely be history for most Guardians. Then for many fans, the ruthless campaign of revenge will begin, at the end of which they will finally face the man responsible for Cayde’s death – that is, at least the fans’ hope.
By the way: Many players are currently taking more screenshots and selfies with the beloved hunter as a farewell. If you also want a special memorial photo with Cayde-6, you have until September 4, 2018 to do so.
What do you think of this action? Are you already gearing up to take revenge on Prince Uldren in a cruel way?
