In Destiny 2, there are more opportunities than ever in Season 7 to bring your Guardian to maximum Power Level. Many players welcome this and thank Bungie. What do you think?
Many players think this is great: With the Season of Opulence, the maximum Power Level of Destiny 2 has been raised again – from 700 to 750. The way to the new Power Cap is traditionally being discussed this time as well.
But while many found it too annoying and slow before, Bungie has finally found the right balance for progression in the game in Season 7, according to many Guardians. The power grind is now easier, and many fans think that’s great.
What exactly has changed on the way to the Max Power Level? First, it is now possible for all Forsaken owners to bring the Power Level of all their Guardians to 690 with the help of a quest. This way, you are only 10 levels below the cap of Season 6 (700) in no time. The quest needs to be completed on one character, then all Guardians on the account receive equipment at 690.
With Season 7, you now also have many more powerful rewards every week that give you a proper push in Power Level. 4 of them come as bounties from Werner 99-40, and another one is rewarded when you complete all 4 (per character). Depending on your upgrade progress with the Cup of Opulence, up to 3 more powerful rewards (on each character) can be obtained weekly through the Menagerie.
Additionally, there’s the new raid Crown of Sorrow, as well as all previous sources from which you could obtain powerful rewards, such as Nightfall Strikes, Crucible including additional Iron Banner Engrams, the forges of the chain, or Flashpoint.
Thus, it is now possible to reach the new Power Level Cap of 750 comparatively quickly even with the limited opportunities of a working adult and/or a parent, and possibly even play multiple characters. The path to power has become noticeably easier for many this season.
What do the fans say about it? Fans are very pleased with this change. In a Reddit thread with nearly 5,000 upvotes, many users share their joy with other Guardians and thank Bungie for this welcome change.
It is clear that this time the developers seem to have perfectly hit the mark with the balance for many fans. There are hardly any voices that criticize the current status quo. The general tenor is: It’s not so easy that it becomes boring and not so grindy or exhausting that it annoys.
Even if you don’t use all sources, you now have the opportunity to really play what you enjoy, and you don’t necessarily have to engage in activities you don’t want to do – just to progress in Power Level. In short: Less mandatory tasks, more time for fun.
Players with little time and many real-life commitments now also have a chance to reach the new level cap in a reasonable time – much to the delight of many working adults and parents.
What do you think about the whole thing? What do you think of these changes? Do you think it’s good that there are now so many broad opportunities to reach the Max Power Level? Or should the maximum level be a kind of prestige that should always be associated with a lot of effort and dedication? Let us know your opinion in the survey and in the comments.
