Raid Exotics are largely among the best weapons in Destiny 2. However, one particular fusion rifle did not enjoy such a good reputation, and so Guardians did not eagerly try to earn the weapon. Now Bungie has significantly improved the rifle, but hardly anyone owns it.
Which raid exotic is it? Many know the abstract artwork, but only a few have had the chance to test it. It is the exotic fusion rifle “Collective Obligation”.
This special weapon can be earned in the raid “Vow of the Disciple” when you take down Rhulk, the final boss. However, the drop rate is low, and usually Guardians must clear the raid multiple times to eventually spot the golden engram on the ground.
In the community, however, the weapon did not have a good reputation upon its release. Therefore, many Guardians were not in a hurry to earn it. Now that Bungie has polished the rifle with buffs, it is once again a hidden gem that hardly anyone owns.
A hidden gem, but few own it
Why does hardly anyone own the weapon? The rifle “Collective Obligation” was not very popular at its release. Many Guardians labeled the raid weapon as too complicated and niche, and with its perks, it could not really impress.
The ability to absorb and distribute debuffs paired with a very long cooldown did not sit well with every player. Therefore, the weapon seemed more like a fun killer that required a lot of practice rather than a gun that provides action.
The unpopularity of the gun reached Bungie, and the team immediately set out to address it. Before Season 18, the team announced all the new changes to the weapon, and these now finally make “Collective Obligation” a must-have in Destiny 2 that is worth earning.
What is so good about the weapon now? The cooldown you received after using “Void Edge” is now completely gone. You can recharge your weapon with debuffs again after using the special ability. Additionally, the duration of “Void Edge” has been increased from 10 to 15 seconds. This gives you even more time to eliminate your opponents.
Furthermore, you receive 20% more damage against PvE enemies when “Void Edge” is active, and you need fewer hits to charge the special ability.
Finally, “Void Edge” is instantly recharged when you kill weakened enemies or if you yourself get hit by a Void debuff.
Considering Bungie’s adjustments, it is clear that the team did everything to make the weapon very attractive for Guardians. As a result, the primary weapon becomes a favorite for every player of the loot shooter. You just need to get it.
