The Destiny 2 support is back from the break, and you can expect the first downtime of the year on January 4, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and Google Stadia. You will continue to receive the most important times and information on MeinMMO.
What you need to know today: After a quiet time for Bungie support over Christmas and New Year, things are getting back to normal. We are expecting the first downtime of the new year 2022. As always, we will keep you updated.
To ensure you know exactly when you can play and what changes are happening in the game, MeinMMO will guide you through the maintenance work and update this article as soon as something changes or Bungie releases further information about a hotfix and adjustments.
Maintenance on 01/04 – All times and server downtime
These times are important today:
- At 2:00 PM German time, the maintenance work will start on all platforms.
- From 2:45 PM, the servers will be offline. You will be kicked from all activities and the downtime will begin.
- It is expected that the servers will be back online around 5:00 PM, and the update will roll out worldwide.
- If a download is in progress, you can play Destiny 2 again once it is downloaded (and copied).
- The maintenance work is expected to end at 6:00 PM as planned.
– 2:45 PM: The servers went offline exactly at 2:45 PM.
– 5:00 PM: Destiny players can log in again. The maintenance work officially ends at 6:00 PM. So expect some “hitches”.
– 6:00 PM: Destiny 2 is back online. The maintenance work is completed and no download is necessary. The reset takes place as usual and you can log in again as normal.
It is important: Even if you have loaded the update, there may be connection problems until the planned end of the maintenance work around 6:00 PM. You may need to expect queues at login. Also, please keep in mind that third-party applications and the official companion app may not be reachable properly.
What changes with the Update in Season 15
This is what the hotfix today brings: Bungie has not disclosed any details about the update in advance. Officially, Bungie has not said anything about it. Therefore, we can only assume that maybe some known issues have been addressed.
- The menus in the game have been loading very slowly since Christmas, causing players to wait a long time before quest menus, weapon details, and other information in the game open.
- In the “Trials of Eternity,” there are repeated crashes and black screens. This issue occurs more frequently on consoles but can also happen sometimes on PC, preventing players from completing the activity.
- Xur continues to blink after you have raised your reputation rank with him to level 16.
- Failsafe seems to have boot issues, as she has been absent more frequently lately and could not always be addressed.
Patch Notes for the Update in Destiny 2
What’s included in the patch notes? Bungie publishes the comprehensive list of all changes in the form of patch notes.
Traditionally, the information is released together with the update itself, but that has not been the case so far. However, as soon as Bungie provides further information online, we will add the link here.
Are you glad that Bungie is now resuming the old maintenance rhythm? Or do you think the last two weeks without maintenance work were more pleasant? And don’t forget: Today is also the last day to bake and deliver cookies, as the event officially ends on January 4, 2022.
