To the chagrin of numerous Guardians, it was revealed last week that the Lion’s Roar ornament from the Iron Banner bundle was bugged. This evening, during maintenance, update 1.2.1.2 for Destiny 2 was finally released to fix the issue for affected players. We have the details.
Iron Banner bundle in Eververse bugged: Just in time for the second Iron Banner of Season 3, a corresponding bundle was available for purchase in the Eververse. The centerpiece of the package was the Wolf’s Face ornament for the grenade launcher Lion’s Roar in Iron Banner style.
The issue: After purchasing the €10 bundle, numerous fans found that the ornament in some cases could not be equipped anymore or even disappeared completely. As Bungie already admitted, this was a bug. Shortly after, Bungie removed the Iron Banner bundle from the Eververse until the issue is fixed.
No quick solution: Unfortunately, the studio could not quickly fix the annoying bug. Affected players have to wait until this evening. Then a corresponding hotfix will be released.
Hotfix 1.2.1.2 fixes ornament issue – Servers remain online despite maintenance
Hotfix coming: With today’s update, Bungie is now providing the solution for the ornament issue with the grenade launcher Lion’s Roar.
The hotfix 1.2.1.2 was released today, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. Since 7:00 PM, the update has been available for download and installation in-game.
The Guardians should be prompted to download and install the hotfix – at the latest when they return to orbit next time. However, it may well be that some players will need to manually check for updates.
Maintenance yes, but no down times. Although the update involves maintenance, there should be no server downs – except in emergencies. The maintenance work will take place from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. At the latest, the last Guardians will be removed from their activities and prompted to download and install the hotfix, if not already done.
Patch notes for today’s Destiny 2 update
The patch notes for hotfix 1.2.1.2 are very brief:
- A problem was fixed where players who bought the Iron ornament package did not correctly receive the Wolf’s Face ornament for Lion’s Roar
For players affected by the ornament bug of the Iron Banner bundle, hotfix 1.2.1.2 thus does the following:
- The Wolf’s Face ornament will already be unlocked and will be findable by inspecting Lion’s Roar in the vault, collection, or character inventory
- Affected players who do not yet own Lion’s Roar will not see the Wolf’s Face ornament in the modifications inventory, post office, or vault. It will appear in the preview as soon as Lion’s Roar is obtained in-game
- As with all ornaments for exotic weapons, it can be applied or removed freely on Lion’s Roar without consuming materials or glimmer
