The release of the update milestone 1.1.4 for Destiny 2 is drawing closer. After feedback from the community, Bungie opts for the surprise effect and allows Guardians to discover the exclusive Nightfall rewards themselves starting March 27. There is also new information regarding maintenance on patch day.
In a few days, it will be here: On March 27, update 1.1.4 introduces many long-awaited changes for Destiny 2 . During this time, the sandbox will be heavily adjusted – Bungie is making extensive changes to the Guardian classes and weapons and completely re-balancing them. The Crucible will also be fundamentally revised as part of this update.

But also a lot of other changes such as the penalty for quitting early in the Crucible or unique Nightfall rewards will be introduced into the game.
Bungie relies on the surprise effect
Starting March 27, every nasty Nightfall strike boss will drop a rare, powerful, and above all unique item related to it, which can drop for the Guardians upon its defeat – on every difficulty level of the Nightfalls.
In this context, Bungie recently raised the question of whether the Guardians would prefer a preview of these exclusive Nightfall rewards or if they would rather discover them for themselves.

After feedback from the community, Bungie has now decided to maintain the element of surprise and let players discover the unique Nightfall rewards themselves.
Punishments for PvP quitters
Bungie also released new information about the penalties for quitting Crucible matches early.
Since there is no way to join an ongoing match in the competitive playlist, quitting a game early can significantly spoil the gaming experience for the other team members. With update 1.1.4, repeated early quitting in the competitive playlist will therefore result in a 30-minute restriction .
It doesn’t matter for what reasons one leaves the matches early – whether due to shaky network settings, inactivity, or because the pizza delivery guy is at the door. Those who leave a match early can expect to be temporarily restricted.

So if you are participating in the competitive playlist, make sure you have a solid internet connection and enough time.
Maintenance work and down-time on March 27, 2018
There is also new information regarding the maintenance work and the server down-time on Tuesday, March 27:
- 6:00 PM – Start of maintenance, servers go offline. Players can no longer log in to Destiny 2.
- 7:00 PM – Players still in a Destiny 2 activity will be returned to the main screen. Update 1.1.4 should now be ready for download and can subsequently be installed.
- 8:00 PM – Estimated end of maintenance.

Following the release of update 1.1.4, the following should also be noted:
- The strike activity Exodus Crash will not be featured as Nightfall, as there is a bug that prevents progress from being made when attempting to collect energy spikes. The goal is to eliminate this bug by update 1.2.0. Until then, the corresponding unique reward will not be available.
- The removal of the radar in competitive modes and Trials of the Nine means that perks that provide radar advantages will obviously cease to function there. For example, a Hunter wearing the exotic helmet Weakspot Radar will not have radar when using the targeting device.
Will you check back into Destiny 2 after the release of the update? Or do the changes not go far enough to pique your interest?
