In Destiny 2 the power level says a lot about your Guardian. Especially at the beginning of a new expansion, this is an important indicator, as it shows how much grinding Guardians need to do until they reach the maximum level. Therefore, we give you an outlook on how high the power level could be in Lightfall.
How high will the power level be in Lightfall? So far, the seasonal limit of your power in Season 19 is 1590 power. However, this changes significantly in Destiny 2 when a new DLC is released.
Bungie has not yet provided direct insights into the upcoming power of the Guardians, but some preview images from the developers from the Bungie blog still have enough information to assume that you can push your Guardian to a power level of 1800 in Lightfall. That is an increase of a whopping 200 power levels for the upcoming Season 20.
The first image shows a Warlock with a total of 1801 light levels. However, taking a closer look at the image, it becomes clear that this is actually only 1800. The +1 comes additionally from the artifact that this Warlock has.
However, keep in mind: This is only a guess that can be concluded from the images. Something could still change upon the release of Lightfall or Bungie could announce something.
Power level in Lightfall – How important is the value
Does the power level still play an important role in Destiny 2? The power level played a significant role in Forsaken. When you reached the power limit, any activity could be undertaken. However, since Shadowkeep, this level has gradually receded.
Thanks to the artifact, which levels up simultaneously with you, you receive additional levels credited to your Guardian. This allows you to quickly engage in many activities that you wouldn’t have been able to approach so early due to poor equipment.
Many Guardians would celebrate it if the hard power level grind were abolished as soon as possible:
So far, however, it seems that everything remains the same; the power level is still an important component of your Guardian. However, thanks to the artifact, you no longer have to invest as much time in farming high-level gear and can mix into activities faster.
How does the artifact affect your power level? The artifact levels up equipped alongside with your Guardian. When your artifact is then leveled up by playing and thus accumulating experience points, you receive an additional 1 power level.
At first, this may sound like little, but the artifact can level up quite quickly, thus giving you a large power bonus. This allows Guardians who do not have high-level gear or weapons to participate in Grandmaster raids or Nightfall strikes.
Without the artifact, many Guardians would have to spend a long time collecting top-tier gear from activities over weeks.
