In Destiny 2, the last major downtime is approaching before the new DLC Lightfall, before players will start in Neomuna and the new Season 20. MeinMMO will continuously follow the server downtime for you and will also inform you in advance about the exact downtime.
What you need to know today: Yesterday, Lightfall had its first small dress rehearsal, where there was a lot to hear but little to see. Today it gets really serious. Destiny 2 is currently preparing everything to ensure a smooth launch of the new DLC.
The new DLC will, as Bungie has already shown, start with a huge space battle. Additionally, it will tell one of the most brilliant stories of the Destiny universe by Bungie a bit more to the end. Light against Darkness. The Traveler against the Witness. Players can expect a brilliant showdown in space à la Star Wars, complete with everything. You are right in the middle of it and experience this second apocalypse up close.
- The new chapter “Lightfall” will be released tomorrow and thematically marks the beginning of the end. However, even those who did not experience this beginning and do not know the universe can have fun in the adventure shooter. Here are 5 reasons why.
Update History – Live Ticker
In this sense, we say goodbye with a final photo from the intro trailer of the DLC. We hope you can enjoy the evening to the fullest and without further problems or outages.

28.02./ 19:15: Caiatl, Osiris, the 14th Saint, and the Guardians as a party game! Bungie has just released the new collaboration. There are funny Destiny 2 characters in Among Us style.
28.02./ 19:10: Patience is still required. Bungie reports that maintenance is officially complete. Logins are running smoothly, but queues are present. However, Bungie seems to have it under control. So far, we are still receiving individual feedback from latecomers who unfortunately still have to wait. Let’s go, Bungie!
28.02./ 19:00: To all who are still waiting, we want to sweeten the time with a small glimpse of the latest season exo “Glass Ice Curve”. It is directly available from the season pass.
28.02./ 18:40: Every Guardian in Destiny 2 now has a power level of 1,600. And there is a notification that Ikora wants to see you. So be sure to stop by her.

– The exotic “Silver Storm” and the raid exo “Malicious Touch” no longer deal damage to enemies with red bars.
– The text for the seasonal reset of Guardian ranks is incorrect.
– The new exo legs of the Warlocks do not generate extra threads.
– There are further bugs, the complete list can be found on Bungie-Help
28.02./ 18:20: Bungie is ensuring that more Guardians can log in with each passing second. The first players are already on the character screen. The MeinMMO Destiny 2 editorial team is a bit envious of them.
28.02./ 18:14: Bungie officially reports: The servers are back online. If Xbox players see “There is an upgrade!” after the launch of Destiny 2, click through the following ToDo.
28.02./ 18:00: Ready to go! The first Guardians have already attempted to log in to resist. Unfortunately, the servers are still overloaded at this time. Expect queues because many other Guardians want to get into the game at this very moment.

28.02./ 16:15: Bungie has just dropped the brand new Season 20 trailer. Here, Mara Sov tells you what you have to do in the season of resistance. See for yourself:
28.02./ 12:00: Titans are unhappy. One of their favorite ability exotics was nerfed in the patch notes. Now many players are considering switching classes at the Lightfall launch. Destiny 2 therefore makes a “Titanfall” out of this nerf.
28.02./ 09:15: Xbox guardians are also experiencing some issues with the preload. The login for some Xbox Series X|S players is blocked. Bungie has therefore communicated that this group of players can only log in to Destiny 2: Lightfall if they complete the specific ToDo that Bungie shared via Twitter.
23:45: Who is the imposter here? Now the collaboration with a well-known party game and Destiny 2 is almost certain. The official Twitter account has shared a tweet confirming the rumors and announcing “Transmat incoming”. Find out more about what crossover Destiny 2 is planning with a party game.
21:30: Destiny 2 is providing the excited guardians on Twitter with a lot of tweets. The latest image is very noteworthy because we see the first photo of the new raid in Destiny 2 named “Root of Nightmares”.
Find out everything about the new Lightfall raid: Destiny 2 Lightfall: Raid “Root of Nightmares” – Everything about the launch and what you need to know
Plus the quote: “Here stirs a terrifying being from an unknown time and place. The guardians must face this ancient threat in a 6-player raid.”
Both old and new versions of the game must exist side by side on the PS4. The old packages will be removed once Lightfall starts, but during the 24-hour downtime, both versions must be in storage for the preload process to be successful.
Additionally, it may help to log into the game past the title screen to see the custom message. Bungie has provided PS4 players with this ToDo on Twitter.
19:05: Somewhat drier than the articles at mein MMO are the patch notes of Lightfall, which Bungie has just published. They contain extremely extensive and official in-game changes for the launch of Lightfall. But don’t be discouraged by that. Lightfall aims to make many things easier.
However, we recommend our all-in-one article on this that summarizes everything compactly: Destiny 2: 10 things to expect in Season 20 of the Lightfall DLC
19:00: On MeinMMO, during the Destiny downtime, you can find many interesting articles about what to expect in the new DLC. Bungie will bring back a popular weapon from Destiny 1 that you surely remember. There might be a new crossover that will surprise you and here you can find the complete story of Destiny to read.
18:30: On Twitter, Bungie revealed that Destiny 2: Lightfall will include a gigantic 205 patch notes in the update. No wonder given the multitude of changes that mark the rebirth of the loot shooter.
18:00: “And thus begins the end with a single note; as delicate and steadfast as the light. Should it fall, you should lose yourself in the dark…” teases Bungie. While Destiny 2 is offline, only this impressive melody remains in the ears of the guardians.
17:45: The Destiny 2 servers have just gone offline for 24 hours. Now you must prove your patience. A preload is currently not available. We will inform you immediately when the time comes.

MeinMMO regularly updates this article so that you are up to date. You can also feel free to discuss with us in the comments.
When does the preload begin exactly? The preload for Lightfall and thus for Update 7.0.0.1 will be available today on all platforms, including PC, Xbox, and Playstation.

Maintenance from 27 – 28.02. – All times and server downtime
These times are important for Lightfall:
More important notes
Even if you have loaded the update and are back in the game, there may still be connection issues until the maintenance work ends at 19:00. You may also have to expect queues during login.
Once Destiny 2 is offline, you can no longer claim rewards or items. All upcoming rewards from Season 19 and “The Witch Queen” must therefore be purchased and claimed before the shutdown begins, today at 18:00 on February 27.
This includes:
- Seasonal seals and rewards
- Season pass items
- Season merchant rewards
- Rewards from the playlists of Shaxx, Zavala, Vanguard, and the 14th Saint
- Banshee-44 reputation items
As always, on the launch day, the API will be offline for a while, which restricts the ability to transfer items via the Companion App or other third-party apps. So it’s best to plan ahead today and equip your favorite weapons on the character with which you want to start in Witch Queen.
Additionally, Cross-Save users should note the following: Players should ensure that their Cross Save settings are fully linked and activated before logging into Lightfall for the first time. This ensures that all purchased season passes and dungeon keys are assigned to the desired player account.
