When players have completed the Lightfall campaign in Destiny 2, it’s far from over. Next up is the Exo weapon quest “Unfinished Business,” through which you can snag the Exo MG “Deterministic Chaos.” MeinMMO tells you how and explains the 13-step quest.
What is this Exo quest? Every player who successfully completes the Destiny 2: Lightfall campaign gains access to the exotic quest “Unfinished Business.” Here, Nimbus tasks you with finding data packages and completing Rohan’s endeavors that he pursued before the conflict with Emperor Calus and the Witness.
The quest also leads players into the raid “Garden of Salvation” – just backwards – and offers new story beats about the ominous Veil beyond the Lightfall campaign.
To successfully complete the final step of the Exo quest “Unfinished Business,” a power level of 1,770 is recommended. Therefore, it is advisable to choose the Legendary campaign right from the start. This automatically grants you a complete gear set at this power level.

How to get the machine gun “Deterministic Chaos” in Destiny 2
This quest is about: The exotic quest “Unfinished Business“ consists of a total of 13 steps and is not particularly difficult to complete. But it will reveal more details about the Lightfall story and also reward you with an Exo weapon.
It all starts with a visit to the “Hall of Heroes,” where you are to fulfill a sad duty. In total, the quest has 13 steps and we will now show you exactly what to do.
- Step 1 – Meet Nimbus. Take the quest from Nimbus at the spawn point Traveler’s Gate after completing the Lightfall campaign and listen to him.
- Step 2 – Watch the cutscene. Now you can complete a few things in the Hall of Heroes before heading back to Nimbus. You need to find out why he left the ceremony early.
- Step 3 – Collect Cipher Qubits from the Vex. You need these to extract Rohan’s data from cloud accumulations, the destination resource in Neomuna.
- Cipher Qubits drop randomly from Vex enemies
- A data extraction costs you 8 Cipher Qubits, so you need a total of 40.
- Step 4 – Find a data package in Maya’s Refuge. Now your Ghost sends you to the location “Maya’s Refuge” for the last encrypted data package.
- Step 5 – Survive the Vex attack. The package is located at a conflux. However, the Vex do not like it when you tamper with it. You must eliminate some resistance in Maya’s Refuge before you can proceed.
- Step 6 – Meet with Nimbus and Osiris. There will be a short discussion with Osiris and Nimbus at the location Radiosonde regarding the data that could be extracted. Here you will learn an exciting detail about an old story from Destiny 1 related to the Veil.
- Step 7 – Now you need a compass. The quest now sends you to a special Lost Sector “Liming Harbor” on Neomuna. There you need to find a compass.
- Step 8 – Cause chaos in Ahimsa Park. Next, chaos will ensue with the Cabal in Ahimsa Park. You need to lure them away from Calus’s ship. The more abilities you use, the better, as that creates more chaos and you must kill a total of 100 enemies.
- Step 9 – Obtain a Seed of Silver Wings. The way is clear and you can now access Calus’s ship. You must do this because deep inside the Typhon Imperator is the second component you need. So get a Seed of Silver Wings from Calus’s flagship on Neomuna.
- Step 10 – Back to Nimbus. After you have obtained the seed, Nimbus will create a master key for you. So return to him. To take it, you need space in the power weapon slot.
- Step 11 – Complete the mission “What Remains.” This sends you into the raid Garden of Salvation in reverse. You are now very close to the Black Garden. In the end, you will receive the exotic weapon “Deterministic Chaos.”
- Step 12 – Deliver the memory core. After you have the memory core, return to Nimbus at the location “Stryders-Gate.”
- Step 13 – Pay final respects. Stop by the Hall of Heroes one more time and pay homage to those who have shortened their years in service to humanity.
Once this goal is achieved, the quest “Unfinished Business” will be marked as completed.

What can the new exotic MG “Deterministic Chaos” do?
