Since around 4:00 PM, update 1.2.0 and the Warmind expansion for Destiny 2 can already be downloaded and installed. Bungie has now announced the patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The May update 1.2.0 for Destiny 2 is now live. Together with the Warmind expansion, it is between 6.5 GB and 7.5 GB depending on the platform and must be downloaded and installed so you can play Destiny 2 as soon as the servers are back online.

This is what the update 1.2.0 brings in terms of new features and bug fixes
The most important new features were already known in advance:
- Seasonal ranking system for the Crucible
- Private matches, known from the predecessor, are making a return
- Vault capacity will be increased
- A multi-emote feature is coming
- Masterwork versions of exotic weapons are making their way into the game
- Seasonal progress with vendors will be introduced

Emotes
- The multi-emote is now available, and players can now assign all four emote options with self-selected emotes.
- Emotes are now stored in the multi-emote page in the character inventory.
- The emote collection has been removed from the vault as emotes are now on the character.
Sandbox
Abilities
- Additional grenade charges obtained from some focus trees or exotic perks now recharge at the same rate as the main grenade (was significantly slower before).

- When an enemy shield or that of a super-using Guardian of the same energy type is destroyed, the rest of the magazine deals double damage.

Weapon Perks
- Pulse Monitor
- Now reloads 35% of the magazine (previously 17.5%)
- Can now be activated when the weapon is not equipped
- Precision Frame
- A bug has been fixed that caused inconsistent flinch reduction for precision weapons
- The pattern is now more consistent when the weapon flinches
- Lightweight grenade launchers
- Breaching grenade launchers (yes, that’s what they are called) have been adjusted to fire faster from reload and sprint interruptions
Legendary Weapons
- Precision Hand Cannons
- Aiming shot animation has been adjusted
- Linear Fusion Rifles
- Precision damage modifier has been increased from 1.5x to 2.0x
Activities
PvE
- Changes to damage scaling inflicted by players against higher level enemies
- It takes longer to eliminate higher level enemies when you are below their level
- Damage scaling of inflicted and received damage has been increased, from a 40 power level cap to a 50 power level cap
- Higher level enemies will continue to become harder, up to 50 power levels above the player
- If enemies are more than 50 power levels higher than the player, they will be immune to damage
- Over-leveled, immune enemies show “??” on their nameplate
- The damage added to enemies’ energy shields has been updated by the following damage types:
- 3x inflicted damage from energy weapons of the matching damage type
- 2x inflicted damage from energy weapons of the non-matching damage type
- No bonus damage from kinetic weapons
Strikes
- Heroic Strikes now feature rotating modifiers:
- The following will always be active in the Heroic Strikes playlist:
- 1x elemental burning (weekly rotation)
- 1x advantage (daily rotation)
- 1x disadvantage (daily rotation)
- In addition to the above, the baseline difficulty of Heroic Strikes is now closer to Nightfall difficulty
- Legendary Nightfall challenge card
- Can be obtained from Xûr (for free) by replacing the rare challenge card
- The legendary level adds additional slots for new advantages and disadvantages
- A bug has been fixed where you weren’t getting points when defeating bosses in “A Garden World” and “Savathûn’s Song”
- A bug has been fixed where the Nightfall score summary only displayed kills since the last death
- Points for the entire activity completion are now shown
- A bug has been fixed where the “Unbroken” challenge was completed for all fireteam members even when the criteria weren’t met
- A bug has been fixed where strike scoring points were awarded to players in public bubbles, lost sectors, or other unintended areas
Raid
- Weekly lockouts for raid rewards are now class-based
- Players with multiple characters of the same class will only receive rewards the first time they play raid tracks or raids in a week
Tower
- Seasonal ranks now exist for Vanguard, Crucible, Trials of the Nine, and Iron Banner
- Vault space has been increased from 200 items to 300 items
- A bug has been fixed where event badges did not appear in collections unless you owned “Curse of Osiris”
- A bug has been fixed where Cayde-6 did not offer all three treasure maps for Mercury
Items and Economy
General
- Milestones now grant a more balanced distribution of exotic weapons and armor, but overall there are now fewer exotics than before
- A bug has been fixed where engrams did not grant exotics released at the Destiny 2 launch
- A bug has been fixed where the first powerful engram opened after each login guaranteed an exotic item
- A bug has been fixed that caused slow load times for uncommon gear
- Mods and shaders can now be dismantled in the item detail screen
- Items can now be dismantled in the vault and postmaster
- Exotic ghost shells from season 2 with destination perks now have a chance to also have Helas Basin perks when obtained first
Character Inventory
- A “Quests” category has been added to the character inventory to track quests, such as those related to exotic quests
- Items in the quests category are specific to each character and are not shared across the account
Eververse
- Players can now receive one shiny engram per character (account limit is three characters) from Tess for the seasonal milestone
- The number of available items to purchase for Silver has been increased from 14 to 18
- Additional slots include shaders and teleport effects
- A problem has been fixed where players could purchase bundles or engrams even if their post was full
- A problem has been fixed where the items received from the Shimmering Grace of Eververse did not display the correct symbol in the post.
- The Prisma Matrix has been added to the Eververse
- From launch, the Prisma Matrix will contain 10 Eververse items from season 3 every week it is active
- With the first “Well Rested” level-up of the week, players earn a Prisma Facet, allowing the Prisma Matrix to be used once for free
- Players can have up to three Prisma Facets
- Additional activations can be purchased for 200 silver each
- The item inventory is based on a knockout list. Duplicate items are avoided this way
- If items are earned through shiny engrams, shiny dust, or previous matrix activations, these will also remove rewards from the knockout list.
Clans
Progress
- In season 3, there is a new set of clan perks to earn.
- Those who reached clan rank 6 in season 2 have received a new clan banner pole.
Clan Engrams
- Clan engrams from Trials of the Nine and the Raid no longer generate “Trials of the Nine” or raid weapons
- They now generate Crucible and Vanguard rewards
- Clan engrams no longer generate rewards that exceed the player level once power level 340 has been reached
- Nightfall and Crucible clan engrams now generate rewards up to 340 power
Guide Games
- All players receive a new set of guide game tickets
- Players can earn a Leviathan guide badge, which counts how many raid encounters and raids have been completed as a guide
- This badge grants an aura for 14 days after completing a raid as a guide
- Once a week, when the aura is active, you receive a shiny engram for playing a raid to the end as a guide.
The Crucible
General
- Private matches are now available for all players
- Players must own “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind” to play maps from their respective releases in private matches
- A crucible ranking system has been added (details here)
- A fireteam player search system has been added (details here)
Maps
- Maps from “Curse of Osiris” and “Warmind” are now available to all players in Crucible playlists with player search

- Keybinding
- The secondary keybinding can be set through the settings menu in Destiny 2.
- Key bindings are now saved by account by default However, there is a setting in the settings menu that allows key bindings to be saved per device.
- Text Chat
- Incoming text chat messages are now displayed by default. There is a bindable key (default “L”) that minimizes the text chat.
- Incoming text chat messages now produce a sound when the text chat is minimized. This can be disabled in the settings menu.
