In Destiny 2, a witch hunt challenge is upcoming if you want to complete the raid triumph to secure the title. We tell you what to do and what tips you can use in “Under Construction”.
What is a raid challenge? The so-called challenges or tasks in the raids of Destiny 2 are additional objectives that players can tackle in the PvE endgame. You need them for the raid title and they also bring some variety as well as extra loot. So more of the prestigious weapons and armor for everyone.
Specifically, the challenges restrict your normal, customary gameplay in special ways. Depending on which challenge is currently active, you have to reposition yourself to master it in the end.
Every week, a different challenge is active and it usually takes place only in a specific raid encounter or phase. MeinMMO informs you on Tuesdays in the weekly weekly reset about which challenge it is and where it takes place.
In the raid “King’s Fall”, there are a total of five such encounters – the jumping passages are excluded from the challenges. They rotate every week, but not in random order.
How to succeed in the challenge: “Under Construction”
Where does the challenge take place? For the challenge “Under Construction”, you have to face the daughters Ir Halak and Ir Anûk of Oryx, the raid boss from the King’s Fall raid.
These are very special Hive witches, known as “Song Witches”. Their song can extinguish the spirit and soul of anyone who listens to them. Therefore, you should quickly ensure that they cannot finish their song.
How does one start the challenge? Previously, you had to pick up special bounties from Hawthorne for this, but that has changed. The challenge is automatically active at the start of the raid. You will see the corresponding information in the bottom left when you start the raid.
After each completed phase, this restriction resets and you can again only stand once on each platform. If you stand on the same plate twice in one run, the challenge is considered failed.
This means your team must keep track of which platforms you have already stood on to build up the buff. You may only re-enter the same platform after the damage phase has ended.
As usual, we recommend a short instructional video from IPhiniX so you know how the challenge exactly works.
Tips for the challenge
If your team can communicate, the challenge isn’t really hard. If that doesn’t work, we have some practical tips for how you can better manage the challenge.
- Divide the areas among the players. This way, three Guardians can take on the front plates while the remaining three handle the rear ones.
- If you still find yourselves in a tight spot, it is helpful if players from the other side jump in to assist, especially if someone assigned to a plate dies.
- Each time a player completes the jumping section, it is also sensible for the Guardians to rotate to the next plate clockwise. This avoids confusion.
What do you get as a reward? If you successfully complete the challenge, you will receive bonus loot in addition to the completion of the title plate “Stupefying Glance”.
In addition to the standard chest at the end of the encounters, after a short time another loot box will appear. This also contains high-end gear.
Since each encounter offers special loot, this means that for the raid challenge “Under Construction” you will receive the chest piece, the arm piece, the pulse rifle “Pain of Merain” or the Stasis machine gun “Terminus of Qullim”.
- In normal mode, completing a challenge gives you double loot.
- If you play on the Grandmaster difficulty, you will get status-specific armors and “Tormented” weapons (master versions). However, the power level requirement here is also 1600 with anti-barrier champions and Arc shields.
- You can also earn the new raid-exclusive exotics in Oryx style in Grandmaster.
Have you already completed the first challenges? How difficult do you find the challenges so far? Is it doable or would you wish for a bit more complexity so it isn’t so easy for you? We look forward to your comment.
