Destiny 2 has once again killed a character that played a larger role in the game, but was then disposed of in a blog post without showing its end in the game. This time, it is Sagira, the ghost of “Osiris.” Players got to know her in 2017.

Osiris is somewhat of a superstar in the world of Destiny and Sagira was his “partner and companion.” Ghosts are essential for Guardians; they assist them in the daily tasks of Guardian life: they open gates, crack codes, and revive the dead zombies repeatedly when they are taken down by aliens or “the Architects.”
Players got to know Sagira during the “Year 1” events of Destiny 2. The AI even temporarily took over the player’s ghost and evolved into one of the characters that players got to know better.
Sagira was also popular because she was voiced by Morena Baccarin, an actress known from Deadpool or the series Firefly.
At that time, Destiny 2 was in a bad state, but the story surrounding Osiris and Sagira was still played by many.

This is how Sagira died: The end of Sagira is described in a blog post on Bungie’s website “Sacrifice.” The longer short story tells about the last moments of Sagira’s existence, where she sacrifices herself to save Osiris (via bungie.net).
So many unlived moments, lost amidst the moments of necessity for action. He wished Sagira was not here to see him die. His faithful companion. His guiding starlight. His hope, his humanity. “Sagira. In so many lives we had, … you were always my better self.”
His light dims.
“Osiris, why do you never listen to me?” She unfolds right before him.
“What do you mean d–“
“Be quiet! Listen to my words!” Light illuminates her iris. “Great things lie ahead of you. Do not lose hope in the darkness.” She shines.
Osiris whispers the word as if he could stop it: “No.” He would understand it in time. She had seen it.
Blinding light breaks forth from Sagira’s core and she shatters into pieces. A wave of light floods the chasm. Her sacrifice wipes out any trace of Xivu Arath’s presence. The seal: erased. The kryptolith that enabled her projection: destroyed.
Osiris gasps. Alone.
The protection of Sagira’s light persists for days in the shadow of the pyramid.

In Destiny 2 itself, there is a brief reference to Sagira, where you can hear a message from Osiris seeking vengeance for Sagira.
Bungie kills another character “off screen”
This is the criticism of Bungie: On reddit there is criticism of the death of Sagira, as they killed a beloved character from the Destiny story “off-screen” and thus deprives players of a valuable emotional moment.
Furthermore, Sagira’s death would also have important consequences: Without his ghost, Osiris, the most powerful Warlock in the universe, is no longer a Guardian and cannot use the Light, explains a fan. That is a “big deal.”
It is speculated that the unceremonious exit of Sagira may be due to Bungie not being able to get voice actress Morena Baccarin to voice Sagira again. But even then, Bungie should have found a better solution, it is believed on reddit.
In any case, some players wished for a cutscene at the end of Sagira’s story. That would have been fitting for such a character and would have achieved the necessary value.
This is generally a constant criticism of Destiny 2: It is said that too much is told “in lore tabs” and too little in the game itself. This criticism now focuses on poor Sagira.
With the story of Beyond Light, Bungie actually proved that it can also be done differently.
