The Escalation Protocol lures Guardians with some of the best legendary weapons from Destiny 2. However, the drop rate for the coveted IKELOS weapons is very low. Bungie aims to change that now.
Event has been adjusted: The Escalation Protocol has already been adjusted by Bungie before. After numerous Guardians complained that the PvE event with the intended fireteam size was hardly manageable, Bungie weakened the power level of some enemy waves and bosses.
Another change is coming in July: As Bungie has now announced, further changes to the Escalation Protocol will be made with the upcoming July Update 1.2.3 on July 17, 2018. But don’t worry – there will be a buff.

Weapon drop rate in the Escalation Protocol receives a buff
During the GuardianCon charity stream, a specific donation goal was reached, which allowed Community Manager dmg04 to reveal another detail from the patch notes of the upcoming July update.
This is how the drop rate changes: Patch 1.2.3 will change how Destiny 2 calculates the drop rate for IKELOS weapons from the Escalation Protocol.
If a player does not receive a weapon after defeating the final boss in the Escalation Protocol starting July 17, the chance for a drop will increase with the subsequent victory over the boss of the seventh wave.
This mechanic is intended to prevent Guardians from standing empty-handed after hours of grinding.
So those who have had little or no luck grinding for the weapons from the Escalation Protocol should see better chances of obtaining one of the missing weapons over time starting July 17, 2018.
What do you think of this buff? Are there still some IKELOS weapons missing for you despite weeks of grinding?
