Data mining findings suggest that we could soon face a major threat from Part 1 in Destiny 2. What does this mean?

What has been discovered in Destiny 2? The well-known data miner Ginsor has once again shared some of his findings with the community. He has extracted some exciting information from the game data after the latest Destiny 2 update, which is currently being discussed by numerous Guardians.
These suggest that an old enemy, one of the greatest threats from Destiny 1, could be returning – namely SIVA.
What is SIVA anyway? SIVA is a self-replicating nano-technology that was developed by Clovis Bray during the Golden Age.
Originally intended to assist in the construction of remote colonies throughout the solar system, SIVA proved to be a devastating weapon that the War Mind Rasputin once used against the Iron Lords.
Here you can watch it all in the video:
Additionally, this technology was used by the Fallen in the Destiny expansion “Rise of Iron” to enhance themselves. It was essentially the greatest threat towards the end (in the 4th and final expansion) of Destiny 1 that we Guardians had to confront and contain.
What exactly do the data entries reveal about SIVA? While sifting through the data, Ginsor came across two interesting entries.
One of them apparently revolves around a mission involving Felwinter, an Iron Lord who was particularly brutal towards his enemies, as well as his iconic shotgun Felwinter’s Lie.
In this context, SIVA is also mentioned.
The other find is a raw model of a SIVA monitor with the characteristic SIVA clusters, as already known from Destiny 1.
How and when will this come into the game? This is currently unknown. However, many suspect that we could face SIVA in the next season, specifically in Season 11, or perhaps even at the end of Season 10 – as a kind of transition to the next season.
Because such assets, many fans believe, would not be brought into the game lightly by Bungie – especially given that the game’s development is currently limited due to the effects of the coronavirus.
Bungie also announced that Season 11 is supposed to be very special. And SIVA would fit in well, according to some Guardians. Additionally, the return of this nano-tech would be perfect to logically continue the current storyline surrounding the War Mind Rasputin from the ongoing season of the Worthy – not to mention that Bungie often utilizes existing resources.
So there are many indications of an imminent encounter with SIVA. However, how this all comes into the game is still up for debate. Some speculate that the Felwinter mission read by Ginsor could serve as a sort of introduction.
Considering this, it looks like the Guardians will seek out Felwinter’s grave and try to revive him. Or perhaps he is already back thanks to SIVA – but not truly alive and different from how he is remembered. Either way, ultimately we will probably face the Iron Lord in a battle.
Some fans go even further and speculate that we will need SIVA to fight against the Darkness and the mysterious triangle ships from Shadowkeep. However, these are purely speculations at this point. It remains exciting to see if and how SIVA will make its way into Destiny 2. Given these details, it is anything but unlikely.
What do you think? Will SIVA return? Would you be excited about such a continuation of Destiny 2? By the way, this is what Destiny looked like long before SIVA was introduced: Rare footage shows what Destiny looked like about 10 years ago
