Recently, we wanted to know from you at MeinMMO: Is teabagging and emotes fair in PvP? And this is how you voted.
What is the survey about? On November 20, we asked you about your etiquette in the Crucible. In the survey, you could tell us whether you are a sportsman in Destiny 2 or a teabagger macho.

You voted – here’s how (un)fair you behave in PvP
Over 2200 MeinMMO readers cast their votes in the survey (as of 27.11.19). Each participant had only one vote available.
Most remain fair: With one third of all votes, the answer “No, I always remain sportsmanlike” is unchallenged in first place. A total of 712 of you say that PvP is a matter of honor, and you would never taunt with an emote or even teabag.
I have never done it, I’m not a tea drinker ?. Basically, I have nothing against it. Some obviously need it.

Aside from the fact that many of you find such behavior unsportsmanlike, some readers also think that teabagging is childish and therefore is not practiced.
I have never teabagged anyone in my life because I find it really childish and ridiculous.

But he started it: The second most votes (406) went to the option “Only if the opponent starts it.” This corresponds to 18% of all respondents. Apparently, it seems completely acceptable for you to repay the opponent in kind.
This opinion can be very well summarized by this comment:
In the Crucible, I usually teabag when the opponents start behaving unsportsmanlike in my opinion. (I don’t just mean teabagging). And to be honest, getting teabagged by the opponent can turn into a motivation boost. And if you then snatch the victory right before their nose, it feels like double the satisfaction.

Emotes are appropriate for some in PvP: In third place, you chose the statement “Emotes are okay – teabagging is not.” 316 readers think so. This corresponds to 14% of the votes. The fun animations seem to be just the right mood booster for some of you.

For some, teabagging is completely okay: Some of you openly admit that they consciously teabag. You distinguish between two types of teabagging.
- “Teabagging is psychological warfare” got 14%. In absolute numbers, that’s 314 votes.
- “Teabagging is funny” was chosen by 13% of you. This corresponds to 289 of all participants.
Some provoke the opponent with this and want to entice them into careless play. But especially against acquaintances and friends, the playful ‘ducking’ is applied.
Among friends/acquainted players, I find a little teabag funny. […] If a stranger does it, it triggers me under certain conditions.

The end justifies the means
This is how you earn a teabag: From time to time, you justify emotes and teabagging. The statement “In certain situations” makes such behavior absolutely acceptable, receiving 184 votes. Thus, this option is in last place with 8%.
You mainly distinguish between two situations where the enemy Guardian deserves a little extra humiliation:
- You delivered breathtaking gameplay. This includes moments when you remained on top despite being outnumbered. But also ending an enemy super with a cold sniper headshot makes you jump up and down.
- If your opponents are using the most annoying weapons, you can’t help but give one or the other teabag as punishment.
“Erentil FR4” and Jötunn players, whom I outplayed, I generally teabag. Summit players who have killed themselves. And every Titan. No one else!
