According to a leaker, the online shooter Destiny 2 is set to receive activities for 12 players in the future. So far, the maximum has been 6 players in a raid. It could be that this will happen with “Final Shape.”
Where do the information come from?
- The information comes from a well-known community member “Liz” and was spread through the Discord server Destiny2Leaks.
- As “TheGamerPost” knows, Liz is known for spreading credible information. Therefore, she enjoys a certain degree of credibility.
- However, this leak has not been officially confirmed yet. Therefore, it should currently be considered just a rumor.
What does the leak say? Liz merely states that Destiny 2 will bring activities for 12 players in the future.
There is no concrete timeline for when this should happen. But it is likely that Bungie, if they do release something like this, will do it with the release of “The Final Shape” on June 4, 2024, or in a patch afterwards.
In 2021, a bug caused 12 players and more fun in the raid
Why would this be something special? In Destiny, the maximum group size has always been 6 in the raids. However, fans have speculated that Bungie could increase it to 12 for an “epic feeling.”
In 2021, there was a bug that allowed players to participate in activities with 12 people.
Bungie even kept this bug active in Destiny 2 longer than necessary, because they noticed how much players enjoyed this “problem.” Ultimately, however, the bug was fixed.
Even back then, some players said this feature brought a breath of fresh air to Destiny 2 and should become a permanent feature rather than remain a bug (via reddit).
Since then, there has been ongoing speculation that Destiny 2 is working on special activities for 12 players, which could revitalize the somewhat stagnant Destiny formula after nearly 10 years.
The DLC “The Final Shape” is scheduled for release in June 2024. Our Destiny expert Britta has summarized what is currently known about the expansion, which has already been delayed amidst much fanfare:
