In Destiny 2, a YouTuber examines the contents of 350 event boxes from the Solstice of Heroes and breaks down how rare the items are.
What are the packages all about? During the summer celebrations 2020, the Solstice of Heroes, players can grab numerous special rewards. Many cosmetics await a buyer in the Eververse, but treasures with random contents also await in the reactivated European Air Zone (EAZ): the Solstice Packages.
Players are now wondering what can be inside the packages and especially how the drop chances for the coveted items look? The main interest for many is likely in the random rolls of the extravagant Solstice Armor.
Examining 350 Event Boxes
YouTuber Rick Kackis has meticulously recorded the contents of 350 Solstice Packages with the help of other Guardians. Based on the drops, he then calculated the percentage chances of the items.
The boxes usually contain more than one item. For example, you can receive an armor piece and an Umbral Engram. By the way, there are also additional Glimmer, planetary materials, and Legendary Shards – these very common resources were not considered in the calculation.
The contents of 350 Solstice Packages looked like this:
- 305 blue weapons or armors – 87.1 %
- 112 Solstice armor pieces – 32 %
- 86 legendary weapons or armors from world drops – 24.6 %
- 78 enhancement cores – 22.3 %
- 47 Umbral Engrams – 13.4 %
- 6 upgrade modules – 1.7 %
- 2 enhancement prisms – 0.6 %
Keep in mind that the percentage figures are averages and have not been officially confirmed by Bungie. However, with 350 opened boxes, a reasonable picture can be painted.
Is the grind worth it? The chances for Solstice armors actually look better than some Guardians had thought. About every third package has an armor piece waiting for you that potentially has high stats over 60+.
In the EAZ, you receive an average of about 4 to 5 Solstice Packages from the hidden chests per run. A run takes about 10 minutes. The search for mini-bosses (5 minutes) and chests (4 minutes) is always quick. Only the boss fight varies in time – even a mismatched team can beat this in a minute.
If you are aiming for a heavily rolled version of the Solstice Armor, feel free to invest a few extra runs. The other rewards are just nice bonuses, but do not justify a grind.
