Shortly, the Halloween event “Festival of the Lost 2020” will start in Destiny 2. And now Bungie is getting the players ready – with a cool, new trailer that some rock bands might envy.
What is the trailer about? Starting next week, it will get spooky in the Tower again. Because on October 6, the traditional, annual Halloween event “Festival of the Lost” will start in Destiny 2.
After this year’s armor ornaments and other event rewards were leaked recently, there is now the first official preview of the event.
Bungie has released a new trailer that aims to prepare players for the upcoming festival and shows what they can look forward to. The new clip almost feels like a music video and is celebrated by several Guardians. With this, Bungie confirms a saying that has long circulated in the community: “Trailers can do that – and do it really well”.

- One can see, among other things, that “Space Grandma” Eva Levante will once again be your main contact
- There are various rewards like new masks, emotes, or armor ornaments to see
- The two event weapons “BrayTech Werewolf” and “Frightening Story” are also back in the game
- The event activity “Haunted Forest” is also back
Moreover, one can see Guardians partying in the Tower to hard rock sounds in a spooky mood. And the lurking Pyramid ships in the background add to the eerie atmosphere.
What exactly is the Festival of the Lost? The annually held festival has its roots in Destiny 1 and is held in honor of fallen Guardians – those we lost along the way. The Festival of the Lost is essentially the Destiny equivalent of Halloween.
Additionally, the survivors gather annually in the Tower and the Last City to commemorate their loved ones, friends, and comrades who lost their lives in battle. Even though there is celebration, one should reflect and remember what they are fighting for as a Guardian.
During the festival, the Tower visibly dresses in festive garb. Candles are everywhere, pumpkins lie around, and lights shine. But it doesn’t just look festive, there is also plenty to do. Event-specific tasks, activities, and thematically inspired rewards await you.
Actually, the Festival of the Lost 2020 was supposed to take place in Season 12, but due to the delay of the Beyond Light expansion and thus Season 12, the festival falls into the extended Season of Arrival.
