In Destiny 2, clever players have now noticed some changes in the Tower – a specific area has been under construction. Now fans are speculating what this means.
With the Weekly Reset on October 8, the second week of Shadowkeep began. As announced, this brought the Nightmare Hunt on the new difficulty level “Heroic” new content. However, there was also a change in the Tower that Bungie apparently made quite quietly.
What has changed in the Tower? After the reset, numerous players noticed that an area of the Tower has changed. The Guardian’s refuge has been expanded and enlarged. This change was not there before the reset.
Where exactly has construction taken place? Specifically, it is about the area “Bazaar,” where you also find Ikora Rey. Right behind her, there is now a small new area – a kind of platform.
Guardians are speculating: Many fans are now pondering what this expansion could mean. Bungie has announced or revealed nothing regarding this specific construction project.
Some theories are circulating. Some players believe that it could be the “living world” promised by Bungie. The studio had announced that with Shadowkeep, they want to take a new approach and design the world to feel alive and develop from season to season.
Others suspect that it could possibly be an area for a new NPC who may eventually move into the Tower – perhaps Prince Uldren as a potential new leader of the Hunter Vanguard. After all, he was revived by a Ghost, and is now evidently a Lightbearer. Many speculate that he could return as the new Hunter Vanguard leader.
Others humorously suggest that Ikora might now be having a Vex portal built in the Tower to effectively use all the Vex parts she makes Guardians collect.
In any case, it will be exciting to see whether the change in the Tower is purely cosmetic, or if it will also have a practical use in the near future or the upcoming season.
