What you need to know about the maintenance and downtime has been summarized for you here.
During the waiting period, Guardians will also be rewarded with some changes and new features. We would like to briefly introduce what you can expect in the Season of Opulence.

These new changes await you in the Season of Opulence
This is a small selection of important changes. All the changes you can expect in Season 7, you can read in our hub for the new season.
Faction Catalysts are returning
After Bungie bid farewell to Faction Rallies to comprehensively revise them along with the Trials of the Nine, there has also been a quiet period around the faction-specific Catalysts. The Catalysts for these popular weapons were tied to the different factions:
- The Catalyst for the Workhorse was available with the New Monarchy
- For the Catalyst of the Sunshot, you had to belong to the Future War Cult
- With Dead Orbit, there was the Catalyst for the Graviton Lance
Whether and when the factions will return is not yet known. However, Guardians can earn their Catalysts in-game with Season 7. New Triumphs for exotic items will be introduced, containing information about where to obtain the associated Catalyst.
Xur is set to become interesting again
With the Season of Opulence, Xur will finally get a feature that was actually promised for Season 6: Random Rolls for exotic armor. This is intended to make the inventory of the mysterious vendor attractive again for veterans who already own all exotic items.

The annoying grind for the new Power level is eliminated
The Season of Opulence once again brings an increase in Power levels. Guardians can fight their way up to Power level 750. While there were special bounties in Season 6 that increased this level, a quest will be introduced with the new season that rewards all your characters with high-level gear.
The quest is called “An Imperial Summons” and you must complete it, if you want to tackle the new raid “Crown of Sorrow”. However, only once per account: After you have completed the quest with one character, all other characters on your account will receive gear at Power level 690.
This should allow you to participate in the new activities right away with your favorite character, without being held back by a low Power level.

There are buffs for fusion rifles and swords
With the Season of Opulence, some weapons are getting tweaks – numerous exotic weapons and armor will be nerfed. However, there are also some buffs for your gear. Fans of fusion rifles, swords, and the weapon duo Sturm und Drang can be pleased.
For various archetypes of fusion rifles, PvE damage is significantly increased. Exotic fusion rifles like Telesto, Jötunn, or Merciless have also been buffed, though slightly less than their legendary counterparts.
For swords, the ammunition capacity as well as the starting ammunition amount are adjusted. There are also tweaks to various attacks.
Sturm und Drang will also be improved and are set to become attractive for Guardians again. For instance, the maximum capacity for bonus damage rounds created by the “Sturm und Stress” perk of Sturm will be increased to 99. The bonus damage of these rounds will also be increased by 100% in PvE.
You can read all about the buffs in this article.

The hunt for the top PvP weapons will be easier
Of course, the new season will also bring new top weapons. For PvP players, the hunt for the top weapon from the Crucible in Season 7 will even be easier.
Instead of having to reach a certain rank and glory points, you will only need to achieve a total of 3,500 points in the Season of Opulence. How often you rank up or down during that time does not matter. You only need to reach 3,500 glory points during the entire season, and the top weapon Revoke is yours. Losses will not deduct points from you.

New group activity: The Menagerie
In the Menagerie, all owners of the Annual Pass will be able to let loose. The new 6-Guardian activity comes with matchmaking and takes you back to the Leviathan, where you are to entertain Emperor Calus.
What awaits you in this activity is still unclear. However, it should feature different bosses and also a heroic mode for the Menagerie starting June 25.
Furthermore, you will unlock the Chalice of Opulence through the Menagerie.

Chalice of Opulence – Decide for yourself which loot you earn
The new Chalice of Opulence will be received by Guardians in the Menagerie from Calus. Players will be able to earn runes that can further upgrade and expand the Chalice. This way, players can specifically work towards certain gear and decide which items they want to obtain.
With this, Bungie wants to give Guardians a choice about which loot they receive. The luck factor, which is despised by many players as RNG, is to be reduced.
The Chalice is also supposed to spit out some of the best gear for you.
In addition, there are also the following changes to the Eververse in Season 7:
