For a long time, we have been wondering what happened to Cayde’s killer, Prince Uldren, in Destiny 2. New evidence suggests that he is currently among us in the Tower in Season 10. Read why this is suspected and what is still being speculated about.
What do we know about Prince Uldren? The brother of the Awoken Queen has been causing trouble since Destiny 1 and is not particularly friendly towards us Guardians. He was considered missing for a long time after the battle with the Taken King.
In Destiny 2, he then returned to the stage and was primarily responsible for the death of fan-favorite and rogue Cayde-6. Throughout an epic revenge story, our Guardians tracked down Uldren, leading to his execution (who pulled the trigger exactly is not known).
Surprisingly, the former villain was resurrected by the Traveler and has since wandered through the world of Destiny without memories. He remains hidden and always conceals his face. After much speculation, it now seems that we know where the Prince will be in Season 10.
Prince Uldren is in the Season of the Worthy in the Tower
Was Uldren sighted in the Tower? Bungie recently presented the official reveal trailer for Season 10. In it, we see that the Cabal are crashing their massive fleet ship into Earth and the Last City.
In one scene, the frightened inhabitants gaze up at the sky, likely because the looming spaceship threat is getting closer. The camera prominently captures a figure with a distinctive helmet. The Guardians assume: Behind the veiled figure is none other than Prince Uldren.
This is why the person is the missing Prince: The residents of the Tower do not wear helmets – with the exception of Lord Shaxx. The fact that Uldren always conceals his face to avoid hostility fits perfectly in this regard.
Additionally, Bungie often hides secrets and hidden details in their trailers that are decoded much later. Placing such a distinctive helmet prominently in the frame seems quite suspicious in this context.
The headgear also cannot be attributed to any of the known Guardian armors, which adds fuel to the speculation. The new armors from the Season Pass look different as well.
What is still being speculated: Two further aspects lead the Guardians to believe that we will soon see the redeemed Prince Uldren again:
- The Season 10 is titled “Season of the Worthy.” It is speculated that not only our Guardians will prove worthy to Rasputin. Rather, Uldren is expected to prove his worth and succeed Cayde-6. Cayde-6 came into his leadership role in the Vanguard under similar circumstances.
- In the official description on Bungie’s website, it states: “Guardians of Light must put aside old differences to join forces with unusual allies to save the city from total destruction.” This statement could refer to both Rasputin and Uldren.
