In Destiny 2 today, on May 7, maintenance work is being carried out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC and Google Stadia. You can expect several hours of server downtime exactly during prime time on Friday. MeinMMO has all the times and explains what this has to do with the new Season 14.
What is happening today in Destiny 2? On Friday, May 7, all Guardians will have to take a longer forced break, as Bungie announced (via Twitter). This hits us in Europe precisely during the after-work prime time.
- Update 6:46 PM: The Destiny servers are now offline. They will remain offline until 11:00 PM today – the maintenance is scheduled to end completely around 12:00 AM.
If you had planned a visit to Xur, some rounds of Trials, or the medal hunt in the current Guardian Games event this evening, we have to disappoint you: The servers of Destiny 2 will not be available for several hours.
This is happening due to the upcoming Season of the Splicer, which Bungie recently presented in detail. During the maintenance, Update 3.2.0 is being prepared, which will usher in Season 14.
Maintenance on May 07 – Everything about the process and server downtime
These times are important today:
- From 6:00 PM German time, maintenance work in the background will begin
- Around 6:45 PM, Destiny servers will go offline, at this point you will be kicked from the game
- From 11:00 PM, the servers will come back online and you can log back in
- By 12:00 AM, the maintenance should be completely finished
Note: Due to the maintenance work, there may be login issues throughout the evening, even when the servers are back online. Third-party applications or even the official Companion app will also not be usable – or only very limited.
What about Xur and the Trials? The time window of today’s maintenance coincides perfectly with Xur’s visit on May 7 and the start of this week’s Trials of Osiris. Therefore, today you will not find the usual article about both on MeinMMO. We will keep you updated over the weekend should something important happen.
What changes with Update 3.2.0 in Destiny 2?
Today you won’t notice the changes of the latest patch at first (except for the annoying downtime of course). However, all the changes will take effect from May 11, when Season 14 officially starts.
Preview for the Patch Notes: The changes that will go live with the start of the new season are quite extensive. Alongside the long-known content like weapon buffs and nerfs, there will also be numerous updates and technical revisions.
We give you here a taste of the most important features of Update 3.2.0:
- Stasis Hunter (Revenant): The radius of the super is reduced from 12 meters to 8.5 meters.
- Arc Warlock (Chaos Reach): The Chaos Reach super no longer hits you behind objects or walls.
- The “Duskblade” aspect receives 2 fragment slots. This likely means the aspect will generally be repaired, as currently the Warlock ability is disabled: New glitch in Destiny 2 is so strong that a class loses a skill.
- Stasis abilities now have colorblind support.
- The navigation mode when you summon your ghost will be revised: You can switch between quests, loot activities, and tracked triumphs anywhere.
- You can now select the H.E.L.M. central station directly from orbit.
- Umbral engrams will be automatically decrypted when you focus them.
- Glory, Valor, and Infamy (PvP and Gambit) will be made clearer and more consistent – This is happening because significant changes to the rank system are planned for Season 15.
- Exotic Weapons will receive their own mods (previously were sometimes included with auto rifles).
