The new patch 2.7.1.1 causes some issues in Destiny 2. Bungie has responded and is conducting emergency maintenance, which is why the game is currently offline. This is the second update in a row where something goes wrong.
The servers are back online : Since about 1 AM last night, the Destiny servers are reachable again. The other Destiny services and third-party apps are also working as usual. In short: the maintenance work is over.
What you need to know about the rollback: Your character will be reverted to the state from yesterday afternoon at 5:30 PM. Any progress you made until 7:30 PM is unfortunately lost and must be made again.
What you still need to know:
- Silver that you spent during the 2 hours will be refunded.
- If you purchased Silver bundles through your platform store (for example, the Playstation Store), these are not affected by the rollback.
- Fractaline will be returned to the inventory.
This was the situation last night
Bungie announces after the update: On Bungie Help’s Twitter account, the developers are currently addressing issues. Destiny 2 has been taken offline indefinitely. The servers are down on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
The developers want to provide new information and inform the players when it can continue.
Why is there emergency maintenance? According to Bungie, currencies and materials have disappeared again, just like last time. They are talking about a “re-emergence” of the problem.
Bungie is investigating this again.
Rollback coming – servers will be back online around 4 AM
How long will the servers be down? According to new information from 9:10 PM, the “Destiny 2” servers will be offline until approximately 4 AM German time.
Furthermore, a rollback is coming again: Players’ accounts will be reverted to the state they had at 5:30 PM today. What happened after 5:30 PM will remain lost and is gone.

Destiny 2 down for the second update in a row
This raises concerns among players: It is the second update in a row where Bungie is struggling with issues. Recently, the servers had to be taken down for 9 hours at the beginning of February. Nothing worked in Destiny. Back then, a rollback had to be done: players lost 90 minutes of gameplay progress in Destiny 2.
This time, players hope they won’t have to wait that long. There are also some angry comments on Twitter. Other players, however, think that Bungie deserves respect. After all, they are trying to fix the issues right away.
This is how the update went down: At first, everything went smoothly. At 5 PM, Bungie took the servers down as planned. Then, the maintenance was declared finished. But then the developers suddenly announced an emergency maintenance at 7:27 PM.
What’s in the new patch? One of the biggest highlights is likely that the patch might kick off the upcoming Valentine’s Day event.
Additionally, the triumph “Efrideet’s Gift” will retroactively be unlocked for all players who redeemed 50 Iron Banner packages in Season 9.
