In Destiny 2, you will soon be able to better compare and categorize your PvE damage from Shadowkeep. Bungie found the displayed numbers simply too large; the changes will be purely visual in nature. And a little adjustment will be made to the difficulty level as well.
These changes are coming: In the PvE of Destiny 2, there should no longer be absurdly high damage numbers. According to Bungie, these numbers got a little out of control as the Guardians became stronger. Therefore, the long sequences of numbers will be significantly reduced with Shadowkeep, and you will see more manageable damage numbers on your screen.
It is important to note: All changes only affect the displayed damage in PvE – not the actual damage dealt and not your DPS. So you will not be made weaker by this change – the numbers will just be more readable.
Why the change? The readability suffered significantly due to displayed numbers like 999,999. According to Bungie, the current display system was not intended for many years and therefore urgently needs to be updated.
In the meantime, it happens with some bosses (e.g., Dûl Incaru from the Broken Throne) that the damage is even incorrectly displayed. The reason: The Guardians exceed the display cap of the game.
Enormous damage numbers, reaching up to 999,999, should be significantly reduced or completely eliminated in the future, according to Bungie.

Adjustment of PvE Difficulty
These are the changes to the difficulty level:
- Enemies that are 10 to 40 levels above your power level will deal less damage to you and take less damage than before from Shadowkeep.
- The difficulty of PvE enemies will continually increase the higher their power level is above yours – up to 100 levels above yours. At a level difference of 100, they will be completely immune to any damage from you.
- Currently, a difference of 50 levels is already enough for enemies to be immune.
To clarify the danger potential, there will be different new icons next to the health bars of your enemies.
Bungie wants to motivate you with all these changes to also try out and explore challenging areas of the game world. You can face greater dangers and at least have a chance against PvE enemies that have significantly higher power levels than you.

In other words, your fireteams can compare more clearly starting from Shadowkeep, who can deal how much damage and decide against which enemy they should better run away.
However, some Guardians on Reddit are mourning the astronomical damage values.
Do you think the changes make sense, or do you “stand” for the extra large numbers?
