The Black Armory, the first of a total of three premium DLCs for Season Pass holders, starts on December 4, 2018. The new raid “Scourge of the Past” – Here is what is known so far
The name and the setting: As the studio recently announced, the raid will be called “Scourge of the Past” (translated, but not officially: Scourge of the Past) and will take place in the ruins of the Last City on Earth. It is the city you can see from the Tower and above which the Traveler hovers.
When does the new raid start? Scourge of the Past will start on December 7, on a Friday, at 6:00 PM. According to Bungie, there will also be an official World-First race.
What are the requirements for the raid? For Scourge of the Past, a power level of 640 is recommended. This is only 10 levels below the new power level cap of 650. However, there will not be a minimum requirement for participating in the raid regarding the power level.
The Guardians have a three-day preparation period for the new raid. The further they increase in power level, the easier the first trip into the ruins of the Last City should be for them.
What is known about the contents of the raid? The studio has not released too much information about this. However, Bungie compares the new raid to “Wrath of the Machines” from Destiny 1. The battles are said to be just as action-packed and adrenaline-fueled as in the raid of the expansion “The Rise of Iron.”
In addition, you will be able to use vehicles (Sparrows have been shown) in Scourge of the Past. However, the raid team has experimented with some new ideas that differentiate the battles from previous raids.
The enemies in the new raid: Potential enemies have also already been established. Although Bungie has not officially commented on this, early database entries suggest that it will be against Fallen.
It is said in the raid description: “Beneath the ruins of the Last City lies the most valuable treasure of the Black Armory, which is now besieged by Siviks and his crew, the Kell’s Scourge.”
Siviks himself is a Fallen and also the leader of the Kell’s Scourge Syndicate – a group of anti-everything Fallen who spread chaos and terror wherever they go. Whether they are regular Fallen or SIVA-modified enemies is currently not yet clear.
What is the scope of the new raid? Is it a raid or a raid lair? What scope can one expect from the new raid? These are questions that many players are currently asking. Because when the first information came, there was confusion among the fans.
In previous roadmaps and in the comments of the developers, it was always referred to a new raid lair within the framework of the Black Armory. Even before the release of Forsaken, Bungie stated that they would stick to the raid lair model in the future . But now everyone is talking about raids.
The studio has now cleared up these uncertainties. There are raids in various sizes, according to Bungie. Scourge of the Past will be larger than the raid lairs Star Chamber and World Eater for the Leviathan Raid, but smaller than Last Wish from Forsaken – the largest raid Bungie has ever created. In the process, it plays in its own location and has nothing to do with the Forsaken raid.
