As announced, Bungie has now revealed what Guardians can expect in Destiny 2 starting March. In a ViDoc, the studio presented the content for the new Season 6.
Many Guardians have been waiting for this. Bungie provided further details on the season of the Drifter during a developer commentary. In addition to the ViDoc, the studio has released an updated version of the roadmap. Here’s what Guardians can expect in Season 6.
These contents will be available to all owners of Destiny 2
The season of the Drifter is supposed to offer something for all Guardians – regardless of Forsaken or the annual pass.

Here’s what all Guardians can expect in Season 6:
- A new exotic quest: The content and scope of the quest are not known
- New cosmetic rewards
- New Triumphs and Lore
- New rank rewards
- New pinnacle weapons for Crucible (SMG) and Vanguard (Scout Rifle) and Gambit (heavy machine gun)
- Iron Banner
- Arc Week from April 9 to April 16. This new activity has not yet been detailed
- The spring event “The Revelry.” It takes place in the Verdant Forest and offers its own armor sets. The event runs from April 16 to May 6.

These contents are available for all owners of Destiny 2: Forsaken
Players who have purchased the Forsaken expansion in addition to the base game will receive the following content, apart from the free contents:
- Private matches for the Gambit Mode starting March 5
- Two new maps for the Gambit Mode: New Arcadia and Overboard
- Increase of the Power Level cap by 50 levels to 700
By the way: For all Forsaken owners who may be falling behind in their Power Level, there will be a way to quickly catch up to Power Level 640.
Once your character reaches level 50, you can accept Power Surge bounties from the Drifter. These are meant to prepare you for the new content within the first 1-2 hours.

These contents are available for all Annual Pass owners
All Guardians who purchased the Forsaken Annual Pass will receive additional content in the form of the second premium DLC “The Joker’s Wildcard.”
The first premium content is expected to launch concurrently with the start of the new season on March 5. Here’s what the premium content for Season 6 looks like:
- Gambit Prime. This is a new mode for Gambit
- Reckoning, a new PvE pinnacle activity that is associated with Gambit Prime and played interchangeably with it. Reckoning will go live for the first time on March 5
- Gambit Prime private matches including new maps starting April 2
- Invitations of the Nine, formerly known as Xur bounties, are meant to familiarize you with the Nine. You can secure new lore and powerful rewards over the course of nine weeks.
- New exotic quest. This could possibly be the Return of the Hand Cannon Thorn. This will start for you on March 12
- Loyalty quest: This is the previously announced “The Joker’s Wildcard” quest. There you must choose to side with either the Vanguard or the Drifter. Depending on your choice, you will experience this quest from a different perspective
- New additional lore and Triumphs
- New Exotics

How does Gambit Prime work?
This new mode represents a kind of evolution of the original Gambit. There is only one intense round, new gameplay mechanics, exclusive weapons and armors. These come with special perks that are designed for four different roles in Gambit and promote different playstyles.
Gambit Prime is played interchangeably with the Reckoning mode. In Reckoning, it’s against the clock and waves of enemies, where you can earn rewards like the Prime armor pieces, which you can then bring into the Prime mode and use there. Reckoning will be gradually unlocked over a total of 3 tiers.
