Soon, “Solstice of Heroes 2020” will begin at Destiny 2. Bungie has officially introduced this event. Here is what you can expect in this summer highlight.
What is the Solstice of Heroes? TheSolstice is a seasonal summer event where Destiny 2 wraps up its ongoing year. Bungie looks back with the Guardians at their past achievements and celebrates the heroic deeds performed.
Traditionally, there is a grand festive armor to earn and various event-specific cosmetics available in Eververse. Basically, it’s the highlight of the Destiny summer.
When is the Solstice of Heroes 2020? The Solstice takes place in 2020 as part of the Season 11. The summer event begins on August 11 and lasts until September 8, 2020.
Who can participate in this event? All owners of Destiny 2 can participate in the Solstice – regardless of additional content. Players with the Free-to-Play version Destiny 2: New Light can also join.

What’s in the Solstice of Heroes 2020
Getting into the event: The main contact during the Solstice will again be Eva Levante in the Tower. She awaits you next to the statue of the heroes (you can see it in the title image).
This is how the Solstice 2020 unfolds: The European Aerial Zone (EAZ) returns in the Solstice 2020. It is a special area on Earth that is only accessible during the event, where the event mainly takes place.
The EAZ is located on a kind of floating islands and is filled with enemies from the Hive, Cabal, and Fallen that need to be eliminated. You also have to face a variety of mini-bosses.
The goal is to eliminate as many mini-bosses as possible in a fireteam of three Guardians and then search for and open treasure chests that are scattered throughout the area. The more bosses you defeat, the more rewards you receive. By the way, there is matchmaking, so you don’t need a pre-made team.
Every day a different element – Solar, Arc, or Void – is in focus. You simply eliminate enemies in the EAZ with the corresponding element and then return to the Tower to update your armor.
The rewards at the Solstice of Heroes 2020
Event Armors: The highlight of the event is traditionally the related Solstice armor. Similar to previous years, you need to upgrade the starting set to “Majestic” through various tasks in multiple areas of Destiny 2.
Additionally, by reaching a specific quality level, you can unlock universal ornament sets in Eververse, which you can purchase for Silver or Glimmer and apply to any Armor 2.0 piece – not just the Solstice armor.
By the way, you can also complete the upgrade tasks after the event ends. You can still earn armor pieces with random rolls in the EAZ as long as they are available.

Peak gear: If you want to push your power level, you can also do so as part of the event. You will collect Solstice Key Fragments in the EAZ and unlock Solstice packages that contain powerful gear and new armor updates.
Eververse rewards: Many event-specific items like accessories, emotes, or a new finisher will be available in Eververse that correspond to the Solstice. The new universal ornament sets will also be available through the in-game shop.
Each of these items will be available at a specific point during the summer festival for Silver (real money currency) and Glimmer (in-game currency). The only exception is the “Iron Divisions” finisher, which will only be available for Silver.
New Triumphs: With the Solstice of Heroes, the Triumph Moments 2020 continue. Two new Triumphs can be unlocked during the summer event.
Solstice soundtrack: All Guardians who complete the quest “The Solstice Begins” from Tess Everis will unlock a free “Solstice of Heroes” music track – you can then obtain the track from Bungie’s official rewards page.
Actually, right after the end of the Solstice 2020, the new autumn expansion Beyond Light was supposed to continue. However, Destiny 2 has postponed the release of the DLC Beyond Light to November.
