Bungie finally addresses the broken raid exotic “Eyes of Tomorrow” in Destiny 2 and will fix the rocket launcher from the Deep Stone Crypt in the upcoming update 3.1.1.1. Additionally, the drop chance will also be adjusted.
What is the problem with Eyes of Tomorrow? Eyes of Tomorrow is an exotic rocket launcher from the Beyond Light raid Deep Stone Crypt and was introduced with Beyond Light, specifically Season 12. This exotic is very powerful in PvP, Gambit, and PvE and is therefore highly sought after. However, after the start of the current Season 13, players noticed, instead of an expected buff, that this weapon exotic seems to have been nerfed.
However, Bungie stated that they did not make any nerfs to Eyes of Tomorrow and wanted to take a closer look at the whole situation. Now there has been feedback.
Eyes of Tomorrow – What changes with update 3.1.1.1
What Bungie has announced: They have apparently found the problem and it will be fixed soon. Additionally, the drop rate of the coveted exotic will be adjusted. Although Bungie originally included a bad luck protection mechanism, which was supposed to increase the chance of a drop with each run without a drop, this mechanic reportedly did not function well or consistently. They have already identified the issue and promise improvements.
Eyes of Tomorrow is finally getting fixed: As Bungie discovered, there was apparently a modifier incorrectly applied to the weapon. This reduced its damage against mini-bosses, such as the final bosses of Lost Sectors. The problem with many bosses (Ultras) is that they are actually Majors, like the sector bosses.
While there were also reports that damage against raid bosses seemed lower than in Season 12, the studio could not reproduce this during internal tests. In short: Nothing was found that could have been fixed; the damage against bosses is apparently correct.
Bad luck protection for drop rate will be fixed
There was also an error found with the bad luck protection after numerous reports that the rocket launcher would not drop for some players even after countless runs with multiple characters.
This mechanism was incorrectly applied per character runs instead of account-wide, as it should have been.
If you haven’t gotten your hands on this beauty yet: With the next update, all raid completions of an account will now correctly be combined into a single value. This will happen retroactively with the next update.
- This will give you the maximum possible completions for the bad luck protection – and that since the raid went live and regardless of the characters with which you have completed the raid.
- For players with only one character, this will have no effect, but for raiders with multiple characters, the bad luck protection will effectively double or even triple.
- Such bad luck protection has also existed for other raid exotics: This is how Destiny 2 aims to help the Guardian who went into the raid 102 times and always had bad luck
When exactly is this happening? The changes will come with hotfix 3.1.1.1, which is scheduled for March 23.
Are you looking forward to this exotic rocket launcher finally reaching its full potential? Some speculate that it could become one of the most powerful representatives of its kind. Do you need to earn Eyes of Tomorrow first, which hopefully will finally become consistently easier to do? Or are the raid and this weapon completely uninteresting to you?
