Destiny 2: Huge space fish discovered in the beta – Is this the raid?

A giant “fish” has been discovered in the PC beta of Destiny 2. Everything suggests that the raid takes place in this fish!

Recently, the find by Redditor XonVisniyr caused a great stir: He discovered a strange structure in the skybox during the “Twisted Cauldron” strike on Nessus. A giant “fish” with its mouth wide open. Many users immediately referred to it as a “Giant Space Fish”.

This thing in the sky is only visible if you glitch to a specific spot in the strike and then look up. You cannot enter it. The fish is just hanging around in the skybox.

Several users have already been able to take pictures of it, so a “fake” seems unlikely.

What is it all about? – The Leviathan Raid!

Now it gets interesting: These images of the space fish match the information that came to light last weekend. All trophies of Destiny 2 were revealed. And one trophy states that you should complete the Leviathan Raid.

The name of the raid is therefore “Leviathan”. In the Destiny universe, there was once a Leviathan described as a giant, intelligent creature – and as a student of the Traveler. However, this Leviathan was destroyed by the Hive. So it cannot be about that one.

However, the community quickly found another clue as to what the Leviathan, i.e. the raid, might be. During the console beta of Destiny 2, concept art was published, including this giant creature:

In another piece of concept art, this image is shown again, but with a Guardian ship in front of it. A clear sign that the Guardians will have to deal with this thing. The “Leviathan” in the concept art undoubtedly resembles the “fish” found in the skybox on Nessus.

However, this is still not definitive proof that this will actually be the raid in Destiny 2.

This symbol was discovered on Luke Smith’s sweater during a presentation, it is on the trophy symbol for the raid, and with a little imagination, the mouth of the fish along with the sphere above it (or the sphere in front of it) represents the symbol:

Many players in the community are therefore confident that the space fish will be the location for the new raid. Whether this raid will take place on/about Nessus is unclear. What the fish is doing there in the skybox can only be speculated, but it shows: The creature in the concept art definitely appears in the game.

Now the question remains: What kind of raid will this be? Do the Cabal have something to do with it?

Will the Leviathan Raid be a Cabal Raid?

At first glance, this Leviathan may have nothing to do with the Cabal. However, this image shows something different:

This is an ornate box included in the Collector’s Edition of Destiny 2. The ornamentation is meant to reflect the Cabal Empire. Undoubtedly, it depicts worm-like things whose mouths have the shape of the raid symbol and look like the space fish. Apparently, the Leviathan has something to do with the Cabal.

By the way: The raid trophy is called “In the Center of Evil”. In the English original, it is translated as: “In the Belly of the Beast.” This means we will likely explore the interior of this space fish during the raid. We are curious.
