With DLC 2 for Destiny 2, you can expect the WarSat event, which some players may already know from Destiny 1. In the DLC “Warmind,” Bungie has given the public event a new twist. We explain how to start the WarSat event heroically.
In the Warmind DLC for Destiny 2, Guardians not only return to Mars, but also get served a “new” public event. The WarSat event may seem familiar to some players from Destiny 1. However, in Destiny 2, new mechanics have been added that even veterans must adjust to.
This is the WarSat event
How did the WarSat event work in Destiny 1? In Destiny 1, Guardians had to protect a crashed WarSat from invading hordes of enemies. Players were supposed to stay within a specific area around the satellite to allow data uploads.
How has the event changed in Destiny 2? The WarSat event in Destiny 2 functions similarly to the activity in the original. However, you will have to deal with the Hive on Mars, including Witches that force you to leave the area around the satellite. Additionally, Shriekers will make your life difficult.

What other events are there on Mars? Besides the WarSat event, you can also participate in the Cabal event “Data Relay” and the Witch’s Ritual in DLC II, which you may already know from Titan.
How to start WarSat heroically
Just like with the event from Destiny 1, you must protect the WarSat on Mars in Destiny 2 from the Hive. There is also a zone around the satellite where data can be uploaded. However, the new twist is that after some time, three Shriekers and Witches will join the fray.
To start the event heroically, the Shriekers must be eliminated. They are passive at first and can only be damaged after two Witches that also spawn are eliminated for each Shrieker.
You move around the satellite and protect it from the Hive until two Witches spawn. These may create a suppression field around the WarSat that you should quickly exit. Once you’ve dealt with the two Witches, a Shrieker will open up and can then also be eliminated.

Once you have defeated all six Witches and their associated Shriekers, the event switches to heroic mode, and you will have to deal with a very grumpy Ogre. You will then no longer need to worry about the WarSat.
