In Destiny 2 you currently have a unique opportunity to significantly boost your guardian’s power level. We will show you how. But hurry – the chance doesn’t last long.
This week offers guardians a unique opportunity to make a huge leap towards the Max Power Level 600. It involves a lot of grind, but those who struggle to reach the new level cap of Forsaken can catch up – especially over the weekend.
Push your power level before the reset – Here’s how
This week is special: The key to a greater power level boost this week lies in the unique combination of the Halloween event Festival of the Lost and the ongoing Iron Banner, which will last in this form until the next Weekly Reset on 23.10.
This opens up additional sources for powerful gear, which cleverly combined can enable a greater leap towards Power Level 600.

Get the “Scare Story”
The first step is to get the new event-specific auto rifle ‘Scare Story’ from Amanda Holiday. This weapon provides a fixed power level of 600 – regardless of your own current level (assuming Forsaken).
Why is the “Scare Story” so important? Drops of powerful gear depend on your respective power level. The best drops, such as those in the raid, can yield gear that is up to 5 points above your current power level.
With the Update 2.0.4, the minimum level required for receiving powerful gear has also been raised. Each powerful item should now be more than just 1 level above your current level.
If you now equip the 600 “Scare Story” with a level of 560, it should give your power level a boost of around 5 points. The next powerful drops should then, depending on the source, be between 2 and 5 points above your power level.
If your power level is below 560, this 600 weapon should give you an even bigger boost.

How to get the “Scare Story”: This weapon is not easy to obtain. The auto rifle costs a proud 120 ‘Soul Fragments’ at Amanda Holiday. And you must work hard for it.
Because you earn fragments through event-specific bounties from Amanda and by playing the new activity ‘Haunting Forest’. However, with event bounties alone, you won’t gather enough soul fragments before the reset – so there’s no way around the Haunting Forest and thus several hours of hard grinding.
Per run, you earn between 6 and 7 soul fragments. You will need several hours to collect the required 120 fragments.

Complete the Iron Banner bounties
Once you have earned the event rifle, you can move to the next step. Here comes the improved Iron Banner with its bounties into play.
Why the Iron Banner bounties are important: The Iron Banner bounties have become a bit easier with the currently running PvP event and now all provide powerful gear.
This way, you can earn an additional 7 powerful engrams before the next reset. This should give you another strong boost in your power level.

Get the remaining powerful rewards
Here’s how to make the most of this week: If you still have time until the reset, you can focus on the remaining challenges and bounties that reward you with powerful gear until then.
While it may be quite a lot of Destiny for one week, this way you will maximize this unique opportunity. Because if you have a lot of time, you can catch up on multiple weeks’ progress in this one weekend – especially for casual players a (so far) unique chance.
