In Destiny 2, you can currently use a small trick to earn double loot in the new Sundial activity from Season 9. We explain how.
What is the Sundial? Recently, Season 9, the Season of Dawn, has begun in Destiny 2. With this, a new seasonal activity was introduced – the so-called Sundial.
In this activity, you can earn targeted loot using obelisks scattered across different planets, through the Sundial on Mercury: You can find out more here: Destiny 2 Guide: Sundial – Everything about Obelisks, Loot, Function
What has been discovered about the Sundial? Some players have now found a way to double the yield at the end of a Sundial match in this new seasonal activity.
Then, a loot selection is actually displayed, and you must choose a reward. However, this limitation can be bypassed with the trick.
It is not a severe glitch that affects others’ experience and only helps in the hunt for the perfect roll, which is why we decided to describe this trick in detail.
How the trick works: The trick is quite simple, but speed is required. In short: Essentially, the Sundial terminal can be opened twice after a match, allowing you to get double loot.

At the end of the activity, you will be teleported back to the Sundial from the arena. And here, haste is required. Immediately run to the Sundial terminal and interact with it using the corresponding button – even if no screen display is present yet. The terminal can still be opened.
Now quickly grab one of the displayed weapons and exit the menu. As soon as you see the regular activity rewards on the right side of the screen near the weapon, interact with the terminal again and grab another weapon.
You have about 16 seconds to get into the menu and draw a weapon for the first time – so the trick can also be easily performed on the consoles PS4 and Xbox One. It is important, however, to only interact with the terminal for the second time when the activity rewards are displayed on the right side. Otherwise, you will typically only receive loot once.
According to YouTuber CheeseForvever, the trick should also work with the Obelisk upgrade “Time Siphon”. This way, you already receive 2 weapons at the end of the Sundial activity and can apparently make it a total of 4 per run with the trick – optimal for hunting the perfect roll of a weapon or for additional infusion material.
The trick actually reminds many players of the chest trick from the Menagerie. There, players were also able to collect loot multiple times from the chest at the end of the activity, making the Menagerie a highly popular farming spot.
