In Destiny 2, every player wants to reach the pinnacle power level to push their Guardian to the maximum power level. In The Final Shape, there is also a new limit set at 2000. Here, you can find out how to reach it quickly.
What is the power level? In Destiny 2, your Guardian has a value that represents your power: the power level. Depending on how high this value is, challenging content becomes easier to play. This includes raids, dungeons, and even nightfalls.
The power score of your Guardian consists of the average value of your equipped gear. So, if you equip gear with a higher level, your power level automatically increases. Therefore, it is important to grind for new levels through powerful gear at the start of each DLC. We will show you how to do this in The Final Shape.
How to quickly reach power level 2000
How can I level up quickly? To know how to level up quickly, you need to first understand the level limits of “The Final Shape“. The following limits are known:
- Power floor: 1900
- Soft cap: 1940
- Powerful cap: 1990
- Hard cap/Pinnacle cap: 2000
Every Guardian starts with 1900 points. The “Soft cap” up to 1940 power can be easily increased with normal activities and loot from any source – it drops randomly. However, to reach the Powerful or Pinnacle cap, you need Primus engrams or Pinnacle gear. Without these, you won’t get higher items that boost your Guardian.
The first step to quickly surpass the “Soft cap” is to complete the new campaign on Legendary. Upon completion, you are guaranteed to receive a new Exo from “The Final Shape” and a complete armor set with a power level of 1960.
After you have completed the campaign, you need to seek out activities that provide you with Primus engrams. Since the new DLC, you no longer receive rewards for a certain number of completions from Gambit, the Vanguard, and the Crucible.
Instead, the new “Pathfinder” system supplies you with Primus engrams, EXP, and Glimmer dust. Therefore, you should initially focus on the Pathfinder for the ritual activities and the Bleached Heart. Once you have claimed all the rewards, you should secure Pinnacle gear from Pinnacle activities. These include: raids, dungeons, and exotic missions. This way, you should quickly reach the limits.
What should my power level be for the upcoming Day One of the new raid? The required power level for the contest mode on Friday is 1965. So it is perfectly sufficient if you complete the campaign on Legendary with one character and then take part in one or two Pinnacle activities for a small boost.
It is important to note that the mechanic behind the shared fireteam power will not be active for the contest mode. So you will have to grind on your own.
Do I have to level each character individually? No. Since the latest update, all your Guardians share the power level progress. This means that if your main Guardian reaches level 1960, your other two characters will also receive items that are at level 1960.
Theoretically, it would therefore be possible to collect Pinnacle gear on each character to reach the limit of 2000 even faster. Either way, you need to put on your gloves and start grinding to be ready for the raid.
