In Destiny 2, the European Air Zone offers event loot during the Solstice of Heroes. The loot hides in chests that you must collect as quickly as possible throughout the area. We will show you how to get the most out of your trip with two maps and a video.
This event is about: The Solstice of Heroes in Destiny 2 is in full swing. The summer event will be available to all players until September 8th.
The highlight of the event is the new Solstice armor and the cool glowing effects that you can now even use on other armors. Both can be earned during the event and the coveted items will remain relevant for a long time – Bungie has listened to your feedback.
This is the European Air Zone: During the Solstice of Heroes, you have access to an event location: the European Air Zone (EAZ). Here you can obtain the majority of event loot outside of the Eververse.
The area accommodates 3 guardians and has matchmaking – solo players are not at a disadvantage. Your goal here is to defeat as many mini-bosses as possible and then face a real boss fight.
Once you have done this, you will collect your rewards for your efforts. However, you must first find them in the form of hidden chests in the EAZ.
What contents are in the boxes and what the chances are for the coveted parts of the Solstice armor are broken down for you here:
Find all hidden chests in the European Air Zone
After you have defeated the end boss in the EAZ, the locations of all loot chests will briefly flash after a few seconds. You need to remember the approximate direction and then search the area – or you have a map of the event location with all possible spots handy:

- The red squares mark chests that can spawn on the ground
- Red circles show the location of chests inside buildings
- Green triangles indicate chests that you can find on rooftops
You need to know about the chests: The more mini-bosses you defeat in 5 minutes before the final battle, the more loot chests spawn. You then have 4 minutes to find the hidden treasure chests throughout the area.
Keep these tips in mind:
- Opening a chest counts for your entire team – so split up and don’t all look for the same chest.
- When you come near a chest, it will appear as a quest marker on your screen – you don’t need extra perks or ghosts for this.
- With a treasure-finding ghost, you can track the chests from an even greater distance.
- Through the chests, you can earn random rolls of the Solstice armor.
- Ideally equip mobility exotics to move faster on foot.

The best route to quickly collect the loot in the EAZ of Destiny 2
Here’s how to get all the chests: Since the chests count for all guardians, you should definitely split up during the search. Spread out immediately after the boss fight. One guardian stays back and opens the first chest – only then does the hunt begin.
The Reddit user Red_Head_Hippo created a route that allows you to pass by many spawns. This way you can collect the maximum amount of loot in the limited time:

The map was also analyzed by the YouTuber Fallout Plays and shows you in video format how to quickly navigate through the EAZ. Starting at minute 10, he shows the routes for all 3 recommended paths:
If you follow this route, you will come close enough to many chests to get them marked. If you do not receive a marker, quickly run to the next possible location.
For the best results, it is recommended that you first check all chests on the ground, and only then venture into the upper areas. As always, a coordinated fireteam achieves better results, but it is also possible to track down every chest with random teammates.
