Many guardians are reporting the loss of raid keys in Destiny 2. How can this be prevented?
The individual phases of the Leviathan raid reward guardians not only with raid tokens, which can be exchanged for cool rewards, but also with raid keys.
With these keys, you then venture into the depths of the raid, where several chests are hidden. Each key fits a chest. And since these chests can drop exotic loot at the highest power level, the keys are very sought after and valuable.
This is why many guardians are upset these days that their keys suddenly disappear. They are no longer in the inventory. How does this happen and what can be done about it?
Log in with all characters after each weekly reset
As Bungie recently reported, two scenarios were identified that could lead to the loss of raid keys:
- If you log in with another character for the first time after a weekly reset, any keys earned so far will be removed.
- If you have raid keys in your inventory and create a new character, the keys will be lost.
To prevent this issue, Bungie recommends the following solution:
- Before completing a checkpoint in the Leviathan raid, you should log in with all characters after a weekly reset or check all characters in the Destiny Companion app.
Keep in mind that raid progress and raid keys are reset weekly on Tuesday. This means that with each weekly reset you will lose your keys. This is intended. So make sure to open the chests by Monday night at the latest to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
A permanent solution to avoid unintentional raid key loss is not provided by Bungie’s suggestion. This issue is expected to be fully resolved in a future update.
Perhaps it will be fixed as soon as tomorrow, on October 3rd. For then, Bungie plans maintenance and update 1.0.3.1.
