In Destiny 2, there is a new Exo Quest. Read here how to get the weapon “Devil’s Ruin” (eng. Devils Ruin) and what makes the exotic pistol special.
How to start the Exo Quest: We have already dealt with the start of the exotic quest. You just need to complete the Sundial activity. The difficulty does not matter.
You also don’t have to meet any special conditions. Once you defeat the Psion boss, you will receive loot as usual. In addition to the timelost weapons, there is now the quest “A Moment in Time” on top of that.
A Moment in Time
The 1st Step – Saint-14: The first task requires you to visit the 14th Saint. He has been waiting in the Tower’s hangar for the Guardians for some time. He will send you on the next mission called “A Journey Through History.”
The 2nd Step – Collecting Weapon Fragments: During this step, you should collect 10 fragments (Redrix frame parts). Select the EDZ in the navigation and look to the bottom left. There, the quest “Long Lost” is waiting for you.
This will lead you to the PvP map “Dawnfall.” But no worries – you don’t have to play matches in the Crucible. There are not even opponents waiting for you. Just some interesting dialogues.
We therefore recommend you turn off your relaxing music or voice chat. You will hear pleasantly humorous dialogues about the background of the powerful pinnacle weapons and the relationships of Shaxx, Saint-14, and Osiris.
You can also tackle the mission with a fireteam and save a significant amount of time. Not every fragment needs to be collected individually by each Guardian.
Locations of All 10 Fragments
Fragment 1: From your spawn point, head straight to the right. There you will find the first fragment at the end point of the pillar.
Fragment 2: Turn around and run back towards the spawn. There you will see a dark rock. Leaning against it is the next robot – thus also the second fragment.
Fragment 3: Proceed to the right. Between the inner and outer areas, the next fragment is waiting in the corner of a passage. The passage is marked from the outside with a large “4.”
Fragment 4: Next, head to the center of the map. On the upper level, there is an open container. Inside, the next broken robot is waiting. A large “3” is prominently displayed on the wall next to the container.
Fragment 5: From the container, head towards the B-flag. This is located in the protrusion in the middle of the map. Near the abyss, the next fragment is waiting for you.
Fragment 6: Jump from the previous location to the right over the abyss and look at the lower outer wall for your next goal.
Fragment 7: Now head into the inner map. Run to the other side of the map in the red area. At the foot of a small staircase, you will find the best hidden fragment of the quest.
Fragment 8: You will remain inside. Return towards the container and see a further robot leaning against a box in the central passage. Next to him is a door labeled with the number “5.”
Fragment 9: Now you need to go one level down. Here the heavy ammunition appears in the PvP match. On a platform lies the second to last fragment in the middle.
Fragment 10: Almost done, you stay on the lower level and look towards the edge of the map. Here there is a massive turret that also makes loud noises from time to time. Right under the cannon lies your last target.
During another truly funny verbal exchange, you will automatically receive the new Exo Pistol into your inventory.

Your Reward – Devil’s Ruin
This weapon is about: The exotic pistol “Devil’s Ruin” (eng. Devils Ruin) is a primary weapon for the energy slot. It does Solar damage and, with a fire rate of 300, belongs to the same category as the ritual weapon Bequest.
The Exotic has these special characteristics:
- Closing the gap – Pulling and releasing the trigger fires single shots. Holding it down fires a laser that staggers enemies.
- Pyrogenesis – Fully charging the laser refills the magazine from reserve.
- Intrinsically, the pistol can stop and stagger unstoppable champions.
The weapon combines two weapon types in one sleek gun. Normally, you shoot with a pistol, which caused a small hype in Season 9. If you hold down the fire button, you activate an alternate mode and transform Devil’s Ruin into a type of fusion rifle.
After about a second of charging time, the pistol fires a laser beam. The charging time and the behavior of the beam resemble the characteristics of The One Thousand Voices. You just have to do without the massive explosion.
Devil’s Ruin thus continues the trend of creative exotics from Season 9. The powerful scout rifle Symmetry can also switch between two firing modes and has unique projectiles.
